Thanks Pira, yes I´m currently into cartoon dogs

    Here is another one.
Hong Kong Phooey in English, Hong Kong Pfui in German.
This is another partner drawing session with my 6 year old son.
I created the line art and copied it, afterwards we colored them.

I remember doing something similar with my children and other crayon weilding youngsters. The conversation would start with my asking them what they wanted and then draw on demand. It was always fun.

Revisited at wilting tulip I photographed a few days earlier and was happy to see that the colours were just concentrating as the petals dried to a delicate crêpe texture.

....Fun scoobydoobydoo there Ptero. When are you going to move to cats? When you have worked your way thorugh the canines of the cartoon world you will have to turn your attention to the cats

Thanks Savager for your kind words

Thanks Pira, drawing with kids is fun.
Yeah, I might switch to cats afterwards.

Today I got a homework from my son.
I picked him up from school and he told me that they learned today something about badgers and that there is a related homework.
They have to learn a little badger poem by heart and also should draw one.
The teacher told them that they either can draw one by themselves or if that seems too difficult also the parents could draw it.
Guess which option he had choosen......

So I did a sleeping badger for him this evening.

Sleeping Badger by Ptero Pterodactylus, auf Flickr

    (Pentel Pocket Brush)
    (Faber Castell Albrecht Dürer)

A (quite poor) translation of the little poem:

The badger has stripes in his face,
he do not like cold winters.
In March he looks out of his den and is pleased:
"The spring is coming after all"

Wonderful drawing of a mouth Ptero I really like the way you handled the shine of the lips and enamel of the teeth.

Heat and humidity have slammed southern Ontario this past week ... so project: Wilted Beauties has been put into high gear, as I scramble to grab various coloured tulips before they shed their petals where they stand. So I've done next to no drawing, rather I am currently playing with fragile flora in my basement. Here's an example....the shade of which I think would make a fabulous ink.

After the tree trunk dried, I dappled ink with a #4 round brush, then dripped/dappled water on that, trying to avoid brushing. For the wet-on-wet, I dappled water first, then dip/dapple the ink. For the areas (and there were some) where the water/ink puddled too much, I picked up some with a piece of bath tissue.

By "dapple", I mean a soft stabbing motion with the brush.
