Ptero- that just came into your mind? How do you sleep at night?
M: I came here for a good argument.
A: No you didn't; no, you came here for an argument.
M: An argument isn't just contradiction.
    A: It can be.
M: No it can't. An argument is a connected series of statements intended to establish a proposition.
    A: No it isn't.
M: Yes it is! It's not just contradiction.
A: Look, if I argue with you, I must take up a contrary position.
M: Yes, but that's not just saying 'No it isn't.'
    A: Yes it is!
    M: No it isn't!

    Well done, keep it coming

I also made another hand practice + background.
This time I restricted myself to fountain pen only, one color without a wash.
Final touch ups for highlights I made with a white chalk pencil.

    Thanks a lot Yazeh

To be honest, mine also tend to do this some times, so normally I prefer a wash or kind of hide them in overlay shading (or replace them with shading completely).
But recently I’m really impressed by the drawings of Andrew Lensky (really enjoy his posts, and to be honest I focus on the drawings in his posts not really on the pens).
He is doing an extraordinary job with hatching and so I also want to improve on this 😉

Thank you Chrissy, but I rather had masters like Albrecht Dürer in mind...

Yep, Andrew's drawings are out of this world. I've been studying them too

    I do not sense that.
I donīt remember that I saw any "adult only" piece in this gallery.
But tastes and preferences are obviously different.

For my pieces I can tell that those are for sure not "adult only".
My rule to create pieces is that I only create something that I can also show to my son (this is my internal boundary compass).
Of course I know that there are people out there which have a distorted relation to the human body, but this is not my problem.

But nobody should say that I donīt take requests (such as picking up Yazeh's hand request).

So especially for the pink pony/cute fairies lovers (nothing wrong with that) I took the time last evening and created such a piece.

    Here we go, enjoy:

I haven't posted here in a while, so I thought I'd indulge myself. Although I've been drawing every day, I haven't necessarily had a lot of time to devote to it, and am frequently displeased with the results. But sometimes I think I see small amounts of progress.

This is a pencil sketch (done during Inktober) from a screen capture I took of an old TV show. A friend surprised me by recognizing, unprompted, who it was supposed to be when I showed her my sketch book.

One effect of Inktober has been to get me to experiment more with drawing in ink. I still prefer pencil, but ink has its points, and I often will try the same subject in both pencil and ink, separately, that is. One thing about ink is that it takes away my safety blanket. I realize that some of my mistakes cannot be easily corrected, and must just be lived with.

Here is a portrait that I've tried several times, from a photo found online.

And this is a sketch of my goddaughter's pug.

I'm not even sure what pens I used on those two, but it would be something like Copics or Pigma Microns. I got a sampler of drawing pens of that kind from Jet Pens, and have been picking them up at random.
