One of my favourite show's.
Departures
This is a homage to a dearly departed feline of one of our esteemed members.
There's also a nod to Kalevala's Swan of Tuonela (Finnish mythology and Sibelius's work)
Fountain pen inks:
Sailor Kiwa-Guro
Platinum Carbon Black
Iroshizuku Yama-Guri
Organic Studios Oscar Copper Red ink...
Noodler's Apache Sunset
Dip pen inks.
Bach's Rose scented ink, Black Sumi ink, Bach's Indigo
Bach's Frisian i (green) mixed with Indigo,
and finally Blot's iron gall ink.
This was part of another art challenge, I was supposed to draw a waterfall in a forest.
Landscapes aren't my thing, so I did a free interpretation:
This is done with fountain pen ink, with different fountain pens and brush.
Blue ink: Pilot Blue Black
Green : Kakimori Kurun Pigment ink
Pilot iroshizuku Yama guri - Brown
and a hint of Platinum Carbon Black.
I used bleach with a glass pen to add effects on the Blue and Brown inks.
This is part of the monthly challenge, this month is to draw ourfavorite stationary. Mine is the fountain pen. This is a homage, to the Mabie Todd, Swan fountain pen. While I don't own one, it's a brand that lends itself to drawing.
It's done 99% with fountain pen ink
The inks are:
Pilot Blue Black,
Pilot Iroshizuku Yama-guri
Sailor Kiwa Guro pigment
Organic Studios Oscar Copper
Great drawings, Yazeh!

if there is something like a "summer ink" existing, to me it's...
...ROYAL BLUE!
This was part of a wild life challenge:
Black-Browed Albatross
This was quite challenging for me to do, but I truly enjoyed the beauty and the colourings of these majestic birds, especially their orange, pink tinged beaks.
I used fountain pen ink, Sumi ink and oil pastels to create these beauties......
Inspired by this photograph:
a4.pbase.com/o12/32/1250632/1/…
I used mostly washes to spread the ink and paper towels to remove excess ink. I used a dip pen nib for the finer details and a Platinum Preppy for the contours.
Mixed media
Sumi Black ink
Oil pastels
Fountain pen inks:
R &K sketchink Marlene (Blue)
Kakimori Kurun (green)
Noodler's Polar Brown (contours)
another iron gall sketch:
6x6cm
another 6x6cm
one of my favourite...................................pens

The best looking pieces I've done this month are not really mine. That is, I painted them, but I was copying exercises from a book on watercolors.
I had this piece of black paper lying around, though. It was a protective sheet on top of a block of Arches hot press watercolor paper, the rest of which is white. I do have some black cold press watercolor paper lying around, which I mean to get to when I have time. But in the meantime, I took some pastel pencils and did this little sketch on that scrap piece.

@Kaputnik, I wish I could create like you when I'm bored and lazy

Another tribute to McTavish/Tuppence, @Deb and Eachan's beloved helper, who departed sometime ago.
I was inspired by Middle Eastern style calligraphers, which often create art forms out of the written word.
Inks used:
Organic Studios Oscar's Copper (red)
Pilot Blue Black (blue)
J Herbin Perle Noir (black)

The background text is from JACQUES STERNBERG, a Belgian writer. The original French text is here.
I was too lazy to translate it, so asked Google for help, here what s/he/it translated it:
In the beginning, God created the cat in his own image. And of course, he thought it was good. And that was fine by the way. But the cat was lazy. He didn't want to do anything. So later, after a few millennia, God created man. Solely in order to serve the cat, to serve as its slave until the end of time. To the cat he had given indolence and lucidity; to man he gave neurosis, the gift of tinkering and the passion for work. The man had a field day. Over the centuries, he built a whole civilization based on invention, production and intensive consumption. Civilization that actually had only one secret goal: to offer the cat comfort, shelter and food.
That is to say that man invented millions of useless objects, generally absurd, all this to produce, at the same time, the few objects essential to the well-being of the cat: the radiator, the cushion, the bowl, the cooking dish, the Breton fisherman, the rug, the carpet, the wicker basket and also perhaps the radio since cats love music.
But of all this men know nothing. To their wishes. Bless them. And they believe they are. All is for the best in the brave new world of cats.
This was part of a hotdog drawing challenge (don't ask)
This is a draft sketch, done in my Mnemosyne notebook. I thought it might bring you a bit of smile.

This is my first experiment with a new to me medium, water soluble graphite. I got a set of Faber Castell pencils in a range from HB to 8B, and came up with this over the past two days. It's interesting to work with, like watercolor pencils, but these act just like normal graphite pencils until you add water.
I did it on 140 lb. cold press watercolor paper, which I'd stretched on a piece of gatorboard. The paper is 9x12 inches, and my scanner will handle 8½ x 11 max, but the border is kind of rough, anyway, and shows the staple holes from stretching.

@Kaputnik, I really like that. Can you do a before and after next time. So we see how adding water works?
Kaputnik (July 9th, 2023)
Well, I might be able to come up with something. But I worked in several layers, and I don't know about recording each stage.
However, let me recommend this page, as I was trying to follow the advice given there. And the artist is more knowledgeable than I am.
