A Japanese house sketch done with 1972 Pilot Silvern (sterling silver) pen featuring the Kamon (family crest) motif.

Yeah, the pen looks dark because of the silver tarnish, I like this look, but I may buff it just for fun.

Part of another challenge. Experimenting with different mediums:

    Soft Pastel/ Sumi ink

More practice sketches, mostly but not entirely based on the Loomis books I mentioned. I've been turning out pages of these. Should I keep them to myself? Maybe. I've done a few complete drawings too, but nothing recent that I like. And I want to paint again, but it increasingly seems that I need to improve my drawing skills first.

I also need to work on figure drawing, not just faces. It's too bad I waited until I was old, but I didn't really feel the urge to do this when I was young.

Fountain pen ink and gouache. Quite a fun combination.

A drawing of Edgar Allan Poe. I've tried other versions of this; this one is the closest so far to what I was trying for, although not there yet.
