It's November, how about some Autumn Acorns ... the old Nassau has pristine clip and lever, not a single pitting or corrosion, that is not common at all. Also that very interesting celluloid pattern that reminded me of a tree bark.
The nib however is quite trashed. So of course I replaced it with a nice 14k that writes with the pressure sensitivity of a brush (almost). I like how it sketches combined with watercolor.

A big nib day for me. Having just got a Sailor KOP which is my reintroduction to modern Sailor since I sold the one I had many years ago.
Which KOP? The Pro Gear version because I prefer flat ends than cigar-shaped. And what a big nib it has! This guy didn't come with a converter, so for this sketch, I just dipped it in Taccia Aoguro and my goodness, the big feed probably just soaked 1ml of ink by itself
The nib is 21k gold and labeled as M, it writes ... just like a Japanese M, which means I don't have to upsize my sketch.

November has not been the most productive month for me, although I've gotten some sketching done every day. I made a couple of tentative experiments with acrylic paint, but it will be a while before I have anything to show with that, and I've done almost nothing with watercolor. Mostly pencil drawings and a few in ink.
But (don't be shocked) a few of the ink drawings have been with ballpoints. Although I'm a fountain pen snob when it comes to writing, they aren't my favorite drawing pens. I mostly use pens of the COPIC Multiliner or Pigma Micron type, but I like to experiment. Both of the following were done with Parker Jotters.
The first one has a Uni-Jetstream refill, which is very smooth and practically a rollerball. In fact, among any other flaws, you can see little blots where I rested the pen for too long. This is from a photo that I've tried numerous times with different media.

The second one is based on a sketch in George Bridgman's book, Heads, Features, and Faces, which he took from a painting by Frans Hals. For this one, I had a purple Fisher Space Pen refill in the Jotter. It is a lot less smooth, and may be closer to running out, but I rather liked the feeling; it seemed that I had more control than I would with a smoother pen.

Kaputnik, is that a Canson pad?
I am really just getting back to sketching after eons of not. This is Noodler's Evulz Green Gator and a watercolor wash, done fast. Like three minutes. I have many watercolor and gouache sets and am just re-acquainting myself with them.

The pen was a Five Below. The pad, from Dollar Tree. No expense spared!

Both the sketchbooks are Strathmore sketch paper, 5.5 x 8.5 inches, and 3.5 x 5.0 inches. The sketch on top was the next to last in that sketchbook; I did a pencil sketch on the reverse of that sheet. I do have one Canson mixed media sketchbook.
I really like your pictures. Pretty impressive after eons of not drawing.![]()

M: I came here for a good argument.
A: No you didn't; no, you came here for an argument.
M: An argument isn't just contradiction.
A: It can be.
M: No it can't. An argument is a connected series of statements intended to establish a proposition.
A: No it isn't.
M: Yes it is! It's not just contradiction.
A: Look, if I argue with you, I must take up a contrary position.
M: Yes, but that's not just saying 'No it isn't.'
A: Yes it is!
M: No it isn't!

Kaputnik, I asked about the Canson because mine has a crease like that for detaching work.
Been testing watercolor sets. These are all ollllldddd. The Lyra is the one I usually grab because it's palm-sized, and I just ran a test on three of them.
None of the color sets are awful, but some, especially the Yarka, were hard going to get color to lift. They've been lying around unused forever. The Yarka is the only one with color names.

Thanks, everyone. Painting is finished. This was the Loew-Cornell set, but the paint seems to fight the detail of the Evulz Green Gator underdrawing.

Experiments continue. Maybe I should next try ink, like in Yazeh's reviews!
