Years ago, I corresponded with an art student in Mexico. She complained about lacking supplies, so I sent her a box of dip-pen nibs, including some antiques, and a couple holders.

She responded with a portrait, which I love.

This is the submission from my son to get the Mona Lisa, but better batch on DeviantArt.
I think it´s obvious that his currently preferred game is Clash Royale (ok also could have been CoC but Royale is currently his favorite).

The latest drawing of my son.
Hi is a big fan of Ironman, his favorite Avenger.

Last evening portrait with 2 colored pencils, 1 blue, 1 yellow.

I think nobody expected that President Selenskyi become such a great leader in this crisis.
Whatever he was before the war, whatever he did before, now he become a truly awesome leader of his nation.

It´s just incredible how this man fight internationally and and internally for his country.

He forged the resistance and unity of his nation against the criminal invaders, giving them hope and confidence.
The Ukrainian people could not have wished themselves a better leader in this dark times.

He has charisma, what he say is clear and regnant, he has emotions and show them, he knows how to unite people and his willpower seems adamant internally and externally to find ways to get support for his people.

I think every country could be proud having such a leader in dark ages.

If I would have to compare him with a leader of the past, I might compare him with Winston Churchill during WW2.

For me personal he is a hero.

The differences in personality and how he interacts with his own people could not be more different when comparing his personality with those of Putin, this is truely black and white.

I think Selenskyi is the worst nightmare for the Russians.

And I relaxed with a figure drawing (not related to any recent event).
First I sketched with a brush pen on Kraft paper and colored it afterwards with white charoal and pastel.

Recently I´ve created a portrait of President Selenskyj so I thought it would be only fair to create also one of the war criminal dictator Putin, responsible for countless slaughtered, raped, tortured, displaced and crippled innocents.
Supreme commander of a gang of murders called the russian armed forces.

I tried to picture his true face as good as possible.

I hope he get what he deserves some day.....

It has been a while since I posted here. Less forgivably, perhaps, it has been a long time since I have looked here at other people's creations. I see that Ptero and son are hard at work.

Some very good art, here, very creative and frequently topical.

I've been both drawing and painting (watercolors) every day. Still feeling very awkward working with brushes, but I hope that drawing will help.

Thought of posting a couple here, but have decided to hold off. I've got a deviant art account, "Slivovitz", and have just been humbling myself by looking at some of the professional grade work there.

"Professional" only means that it's sellable. For all you know, your works might be sellable, too. Please post your work. Also, more experienced here might give you advice and encouragement while others (like me) might be inspired by your (in your mind) meager work to try our hand at drawing/painting.

At least there is no lack of inspiration for subjects. A little field mouse was (perhaps still is) living inside a metal support for a satellite antenna where I work. Later, he was running around on the grass nearby, foraging for whatever it is that they forage for. I took photos with my phone, and later did these small watercolors, 4x6 inches and 8x8.

    A lost and found story.

This owl figurine is a memento of a trip to Athens in the 1980s. Cheaply mass produced for tourists, this one inch tall figure stood on my computer cart, next to the monitor, until several months ago, when it went missing. I was looking everywhere (I thought) where it could possibly have fallen, but couldn't find it.

Three days ago, I threw something out that I no longer needed, and found my little owl sitting behind it. I was glad to have my owl back, and marked the occasion with a couple of pencil sketches, followed by this small watercolor painting. Without the explanation, you might not know if the painting was supposed to be an owl, or a bumblebee wearing a fedora.

Kapitnik- Firstly, I think your watercolor of the owl came out nicely! Secondly, the two watercolor women's faces in your stream are quite good. You underestimate your ability.

I gave the original of this 4 x 6 inch watercolor to a young couple I know who are getting married in August. I told them that I wasn't quite ready to give them their own portraits yet; I need a few more years of practice. In the meantime, here was a picture of their best friend.
