Thank you! It is a bit tricky to draw trees and plants. But I loved how it looks on the spot, and set my challenge. Now, looking back, I think I will spend more time adding some more details around the tree, maybe next time.

I always look forward to your contributions. Not just technically well done, but artistically very interesting.

Thank you; I appreciate your kind words😊 Technically there’s much I can do to improve, but I’m especially happy that you find them artistically interesting. I’m really just a beginner with coloured pencils. There are some hugely talented artists who make amazing artworks with this medium, however I’m happy just to sketch for relaxation and to learn and develop a few skills along the way. It’s been my escape during the past few difficult and strange months 🙂

An interesting, and very challenging, new surface for me. Polydraw polyester 005 drafting film, super-smooth, translucent, double sided matt finish.

Pencils are Faber Castell Polychromos and Albrecht Durer.

I've been doing a lot of sketches based on black and white photos; I like the contrasts between light and dark. Most are probably best kept to myself, but I thought this one wasn't bad.

Excellent 👍 That’s a face full of character! I really admire anyone who attempts portraits; I’m hopeless at portraits - they’re my nemesis 😕
I like that you’ve used textured toned paper. It suits the white Conté pastel. And I notice that you’ve used my favourite pencils - the wonderful Mitsubishi Hi Uni. I finally treated myself to a full set of the 22(?) grades of Hi-Uni and I think they’re superb.

Thank you very much. Any kind of drawing is real challenge for me, so I just figure I have nothing to lose by trying. Sometimes it works out.

I have that 22 pencil Mitsubishi set, but I don't find much use for the 7H through 10H pencils. I like all the others, though.
