    My newest ink painting.
First I created the background, afterwards I painted the figure with black india ink.

My first impression was that I was looking at a close up of an orchid. I them saw the figure. Well done.

That has me wondering, has anyone put a water and ink mixture into a spray bottle (atomizer) to spritz on paper (as opposed to spraying BSB on your enemies)?

Did not really understand your question , but I interpret it as: How did you create the background of the picture?

If this wasn’t the question then I need further clarification. 🧐

The answer to my assumption is:

I used good watercolor paper, so it is highly water resistant and does not suck water/ink immediately into it.
(I used a pad which is glued on all 4 sides (so it can’t buckle)).
If using a single sheet of paper it is highly recommended to tape it down on all sides when using such a wet technique (otherwise even watercolor paper will buckle quite a lot).
Then I applied quite a lot of water with a big flat brush to the paper, everything has to be really wet.
Then apply with a brush drops of ink and magically they spread and merge on the (really) wet paper.
When it is dry again you can continue.

Did you ever observed ink drops in a water filled sink e.g. when cleaning a pen?
Just beautiful to watch, here it is similar.

…. of course spraying BSB on enemies is still an option ….. 🤪😈😵*💫☠️

I made the background for a display once by diluting ink and sponge brushing it onto the display board for a custom background. It looked pretty good. A sprayer would work too. Just 'mist' it, and don't overdue the spray or it might run.

Recently I saw on Youtube how someone created a portrait using a scribble one line technique.
I was really impressed how the portrait evolved from just continous scribble lines and thought to myself: "You also have to try this out"

So here is my first attempt from last evening.
Actually I´m quite pleased how it turned out.

I will definitely do this scribble approach again.

The last piece was white on black, now let´s revert this black on white paper.

I bought the new Faber Castell Pitt Graphite Matt pencils.
They claim that this is a novelty greatly reducing the glare you normally observe using graphite pencils.
This is a set of 11 goes from HB down to 14B.

And in fact there is almost no glare anymore (still a bit on the darkest parts, but reduced significantly).
They behave very nice, smooth and the soft ones lay down really dark lines.
You still can erase the lines, not really worse than with normal pencils.

Imo they are a direct competitor to the Staedtler Mars Lumograph Black pencils (which I also own and which are also really nice).
I didn´t made a side by side comparison between the Lumograph Black and the Pitt Graphite Matt yet.

So overall my verdict after the first drawing with it is that they perform really nice and in fact reducing the glare significant.
So far I really like them.

    I´ve tried something new.

First I tried to do Daffy in scribble line technique.
Afterwards a applied watercolor, wet in wet loosely on it, final touch ups are then made with colored pencil.
