Yesterday evening I thought I could try after a very very long time a portrait sketch with pen and ink (fineliner and brush) again.
I´m not sure if he is recognizable at all..... and most likely only the older folks would know the movie from 1973 and the actor which is dead for more than 30 years now.

This is one I've just finished, it's pretty small, it's less than a third of a 4x6 card. Done with twsbi vac700r with custom xxxf nib and de atramentis black document ink with zig watercolour brushpens and a gold gelly roll pen I'm doing a series of tiny coffees in preparation for launch a patreon page...

Darn you’re good, Ptero. Some of your style reminds me a bit of a Slovenian illustrator, Miki Muster. I don’t think his cartoons ever made it outside of Slovenia, but just in case you ever feel bored and with no ideas, I’d wonder what you’d pull off with his characters. I’ll link a few images, but you can Google “Zvitorepec Trdonja Lakotnik” for more.

Sorry I can’t contribute anything to the thread, I’m really bad at drawing, but I enjoy the thread nonetheless!

Thanks, this is too kind, I just scribble a little bit.

I did not know the work of Miki Muster, I googled a little bit and you are right most of the hits were in Slovene which unfortunately I can´t read.
I saw that he recently died in Ljubljana.

I like his characters, the style reminds me to early Disney ones, like the stuff from Carl Barks, they are really good.
Are they still published in Slovenia?

I tried to sketch Lakotnik last evening, It was not that easy as I saw only a few pictures of him and I did not wanted to re-sketch an existing pose I saw online.
Anyway here is what I came up with.... it is what it is

Here is my weekly Dojo sketch.
I´ve got a new blue mine, a Staedtler 2mm Lumochrom.

The Koh-i-noor Hardtmuth are really brittle, so I wanted to try another one.
The Staedtler is not brittle at all, it is a bit harder and a lighter blue tone.
Not sure which I like more, that the Koh-i-noor is so brittle is really nasty as they break all the time, but I like the darker color of them more than the Staedtler one.

Well done Suzy, I like your Clint Eastwood.

So we are into portraits now, all right.

I counter your Eastwood with John Wayne in True Grit from 1969

Here is my sketch from last evening using Graphite, Charcoal and small amount of Pastel (for the eye).
