I had a few windfalls recently, so I bought a few pens. Now I've got unexpected expenses, and -- whew -- if I hadn't gotten the pens when I did, I wouldn't be able to justify getting them now!

In the past few weeks I bought a Pelikan M205, an English Parker Duofold Junior, a Waterman Carène and a 1959 Soviet rocket ship-shaped desk set commemorating the Luna 2 unmanned landing on the moon.

Here's a photo of the Carène, a quick snapshot with my phone. (This is the Pen Photos sub-forum, after all.) Still waiting for the rocket ship to arrive from the Ukraine.

    Nice!

I haven't taken a photograph of my newest Al-Star (blue-green, but with the bronze cartridges). Other recent acquisitions have been various Chinese pens. I'd like some more Sharks perhaps.

Sadly it was the only one I saw, back in 2014 - WHS went insane. If I had gone the day before (I didn't feel 100% so didn't go out), there would have been a few more pens - there would have been Parker pens too at ridiculous price, maybe other brands small WHS branches stock too.

Current ink list is at https://correspondencefan.blogspot.com/p/my-inks.html but I am wondering what inks could fill in gaps of colour!

When you decide where your gaps might be, let me know and I may have some samples to fill them.

I'm not really sure where my gaps are.. One colour I am missing is Black - I do have Quink Black in cartridges, and maybe a bottle somewhere. However, since discovering colour... I haven't really used black in about 10 years! I have Sparkling Shadows - I could go Night Sky... Maybe another shimmering blue but different from Blue Pearl. Or, could go bright with the Neon Lime or go on the Razz' ! Or, or...! Or maybe a # from Sailor.

I hardly ever use black, so don't have different black inks. I also have Sparkling Shadows. I have no # from Sailor at all.

It's hard to visualise gaps from a text list! (I know in my own inks I have gaps in the non-teal/turquoise blues, particularly. Because I don't bother buying things in that shade normally).

Are you missing some muted colours, and do you care for those at all? Other than Chopin.

I haven't really gotten round to the muted colours. Whatever the ink is, it needs to look good in letters.

I will have to get around to doing a swab of the inks... one of these days...

Almost a year on, I have doubled (?) my wax seals, bought more pens (both Jinhao/Hero/Wing Sung, and also a Parker and Noodler's Ahab, the latter still has a slight smell to), more inks, more paper (especially Clairefontaine). Then, there's the postage stamps to see me through for snail mail purposes.

Through out the last whole year I never posted any news of my buying. It dosen't mean I didn't buy any. It was going on.
Now I have to talk about this year so I bought some stuff and I am waiting for two more vintage pens and some bunch of Dip pens.
That's it!!! on line connection is too costly..

I've seen a Noodler's Ahab but never experienced their smell that is regularly mentioned. Is there a method that gets rid of it or does it just eventually have to wear off?
I like Clairefontaine Triomphe paper too.

There is still a slight smell to the Ahab I bought, but not overwhelming now... I kept it in the open rather than in a case.

I've added more Lamy AL-Star to my umm, collection, and another Ahab, some Moonman M2s, and I have Twsbi (not yet inked).

My ink collection has grown. Blame Cult- & Pure- Pens!! Bought the 2021 inkvent last year... but haven't opened any of the bottles... 2022 inkvent? Looking to abstain.

Added a few more wax seals, but not that many.

Notebooks/journals... don't ask! Was good today as I did not acquire Moleskine.... in TK Maxx... though was rather tempted.

I love browsing in TK Maxx. I think our US friends might know it as TJ Maxx although I don't know the reason for the difference.
