Wow that must be one hell of an obscure brand. It's a pity our other ink guessers are on vacation. It would have been easier...

[since I don't see emoticons on my forum editor]

Cartier sometimes calls this ink Burgundy and, other times, Bordeaux. There's no color name on my box or bottle, though I am not sure if that's still true on their current boxes/bottles.The brand is "Must de Cartier" and, to my knowledge, they have made this color, blue, and black only.

    Glad you enjoyed it!

I have a friend here who I've gotten a bunch of vintage ink from - this Cartier ink, Parker Penman Mocha, Ruby, & Emerald, Waterman Bleu Nuit & Marron (nothing like the current Absolute/Havana Brown), nameless Omas Extra black & dark red colors (both in huge, 133ml, sort-of octagon shaped bottles that 'tip' like Waterman bottles), and Pelikan 4001 Königsblau in the old bottle with the pen stand. Except for the Cartier and Pelikan inks, none of them have been in production for quite some time, and I will resist using them as mystery inks in the future.

Thanks. I guess it's a limitation of the mobile version. I tried to switch to the browser version on my phone and, when it reloaded to display the browser version, there was nothing at all in the window. Viewing through the Tapatalk app is nice but the editor is similarly lacking features.

Keep them when the crowd is back. Then you'll have much more fun

    Well done Yazeh!

And what a great challenge, PithyProlix! I noticed that you are from Chiang Mai. My daughter lives and works in Bangkok. She's here now visiting me and helping me with my work. Any recommendations on good fountain pen stores in Bangkok?

Must be nice to see your daughter!

I've actually never visited any fountain pen stores in Thailand. I believe there are only a very small handful. The one I know about is The PIPS Cafe, which seems to be a very good one, with a good selection of ink. When you mail order from them they send actual sample writing and swatches for about 10 inks - for example, this. Very cool!

Thank you so much! I will pass the information along to her. She is also really enjoys fountain pens.

With Covid, I had not seen my daughter for over 3 years. It is nice to have her home even if only for a short while.
