Just when I was going to start giving you some clues. It is indeed the rather surprising DI Downpour. I fully expected this to be a typically dry grey ink, and it isn't. It's got great shading, and is wet enough to use in even quite fine nibs without becoming illegible. I like it. I'm still not sure it's exactly the right colour for this pen, but I shall certainly write out the fill before I consider trying something else - perhaps a brown next time.

Well done Yazeh - the persistence paid off!

It is indeed Eel Blue. It's such fun ink. But so misbehaving... It smudges like hell! But great for washes...

Oh! I thought you'd have come up with something fiendish from an obscure maker somewhere in the Far East that I've never heard of, let alone bought...

I'm not going to post the next one until tomorrow. I may have new ink arriving in the morning (Royal Mail industrial action permitting) and I'd love to try it out! If they don't turn up, I'll pull a random pen from the sparklies pot and use that!

    And thank you!

I live in a world of postal disappointment these days. Our beloved Royal Mail workers are striking again, two days a week most of the time, at the busiest time of the year. As a result, I'm currently waiting for at least a dozen small packages, most of them little presents for the duckling, but a couple of them contain pens and inks and I want them now. One is now over a week late and is only coming from thirty miles away, and was supposed to be next day delivery.

So, it was a grab and go for this one. I've not managed to capture the sparkle very well - if it's not been guessed, I'll try again tomorrow if the fog lifts for long enough.

It is a lovely colour - and I'm enjoying it as an antidote to the greyness of the days at the moment.

It is, however, none of the above.
