In fact you can skip all the Asian inks, it is not an Asian ink.

Can I just say I hate guessing purple inks almost as much as I hate guessing Noodler's?

... I should finally get some inks from Waterman, Sheaffer and Parker - never had anything from any of those companies (no pens either) except a bottle of Parker Quink in blue which was used up by my wife...

Thank you, Ptero! It's an odd thing which I cannot fully explain, but I have nary a single bottle of Sheaffer ink, ancient or modern.

Anyway, a new writing fluid to guess. Somewhat limited by what was inked up, so I beg forgiveness in advance. In a rather battered old "John Bull" Pen No.2, which may or may not be helpful to know.

Neither is it Leo Tolstoy - although it could well have been had I not, I think, already done it.

We'll eliminate Montblanc from the possible list of suspects.

Ah, no, Shin-kai is much more blue-black than the mystery ink. Think more mid-blue and perhaps heading towards a blurple.
