I think you need some clues: This is inexpensive ink. It has been used as standard school ink.

No it is not Austrian. It is also not Canadian, Italian, Spanish, or Israeli. Nor is it African or Australian. It is however cheap and common where it comes from.

Oh course! Obviously it was a Raduga ink, I don't know how I missed that.

I'm not sure which is more impressive, Scrawler finding a Russian ink in Canada or Steven actually identifying it.

Well based off the clues we pretty much had the ink came from Russia or China and luckily most Chinese ink companies only make blue, black, and red inks

It would not be fun if it was too easy. In the FP community people trade and give inks to each other to try all the time. This is how we learn what is out there and available. You might be surprised at some of the obscure inks that have been passed around and reviewed. After receiving a sample of this from a member in Oman this became a daily use favourite and I have an Esterbrook SJ as pocket pen that is always filled with it.

I consider myself reasonably well read in the fountain pen community and had never heard of this brand. I figured the ink was from South Korea since that country hadn't been eliminated but had been guessed. Just goes to show how much more I have to learn (which is why I like this thread).

There are a couple articles on FPN

    http://www.fountainpennetwork.com/fo...violet-raduga/
    http://www.fountainpennetwork.com/fo...ma-violet-ink/

Through threads like this, ink exchange threads, and meeting up with some of the more prolific ink testers, over the years I have discovered all sorts of obscure and interesting inks. The point about inks is not just the colour, hue and shading, but other properties like surface tension, water resistance, ph, mold resistance, that make one more desirable than another in different pens and on different papers.. I could expand, but I think you get the point. This ink can be quite similar in colour to Noodlers African Violets.

New ink to guess. Hint to start off with, the ink has only been available for about 4 months.
