My initial guess was Syrah but the comparison eliminated that one. My next thought was MB Exupery but that ink hasn't gone through 'several formulations' as your writing sample mentioned so the MI likely isn't that either.
I'll guess KWZ Maroon.
Nope. It's not MB...Nor KWZ
Hi,
first my best wishes for 2020 to all of You.
My guess is one of the DeAtramentis inks made using wine:
DeAtramentis Barbera.

Many Happy wishes to you all.
It's not a German ink.....
The darkening as it dries feels iron gallish
Is it Platinum Cassis Black ?
Not a Japanese ink either :-)
Monteverde Mercury Noir?

Not a Monteverde either :-)
I believe maybe this thread has run its cours. I'll wait till Monday.... and then deliver the name and let it to rest in peace

Nope. It's not an Oster ink, but you're close. Note. This is was developed in the past 10 year or so to my knowledge and released recently...
Might as well give the name but heck....
OK, then it should be Blackstone Uluru Red!?

It seems incredibly unlikely, but I'll throw in Van Dieman's Tamar Pinot Noir Wine Red
Vintage. Cursive italic. Iron gall.

Unlikely as you said... but not so far off..... ;-)
SchaumburgSwan was the closest to this ink....It's Blackstone's Red Cashmere....
It is my understanding that this ink was developed as a powder form so that the user could eventually prepare their own ink. But unfortunately in trials with fountain pen aficionados it didn't work out....
Yet it gave birth to Blackstone inks...
The ink in it's original form had an amazing sheen...
It was released in its current format last year.....
I don't have (m)any (dark) reds so I don't have any point of comparaison....
