I'll have to clean out a pen IOT load an ink to write out a sample with. Hopefully will get that done tonight.

BTW, it was only obvious because I'm Canadian, know the history of the battle of the Plains of Abraham, and also like noodler's inks

How old is your bottle of it? i know there has been at least TWO major versions of this ink.

Ok, here we go.

Colour corrected as well as i can on my iPhone. Paper is a rhodia dot pad for reference, Adjust at your end as needed. since, again, the paper seems yellowish on my mac.

No. not a montblanc ink, not a diamine ink, not a platinum ink, brown is not in the ink name.

neither is gold.

why its a PITA: it will leave a purple residue that needs to be WIPED off of any surface it was in contact with. TWSBI Eco's make this pretty clear, no pun intended.

nope

It goes down wet and deep purple, and then dries to a golden brown.
I created a gif showing this change. but sadly, this site does not support gifs.
so here are before and after shots
you can see the purple film/staining around the feed of the twsbi

oh, and even on rhodia, it bled through... this is admittedly, a VERY WET pen, and a dryer pen would not bleed through on this paper.
