. . . just a tiny bit out of my price range.

That is a crazy pen. It wouldn’t be a daily user for certain.

If you think this is crazy, take a look at this:

btw, I am a huge fan of MB fps, but I certainly could not afford and likely would not use most of these. But it is eye-candy.

    uh . . . wait a minute . . . wait a minute . . . I think I have got it . . . .

It is a Chinese ink, refers to a panda named Cynthis and is a light blue-grey.

It has to be Shenzhen Beautiful Industries (SBI) Cynthia the Panda in the Moonlight. Right?????

    . . . just joking around

I would call it conspicuous consumption.

By the way, the Panda is not called Cynthia, as we were told it is a male panda. (So far that fact hasnt helped me either!)

None of you have it yet, but you're getting closer

This is heading into the right sort of territory (though it's not green), and two of you have now guessed the correct ink 'number', though not in conjunction with the right maker, who has been correctly guessed separately.

It's not deliberately difficult - just what was in the pen!

(and I don't know whether this one is a girl panda or boy panda. I suppose if he's a boy, he might be called Thoth)

An ink I want - I wish we could get Tono & Lims in the UK

Not sure what it's got to do with pandas though. So not this one!

It is indeed PenBBS #68 Bamboo Moon. I have no doubt at all it is an 'homage' to Kobe #68, but it's a fraction of the price and is a very nice ink indeed.

Congratulations David - the floor is yours

CONGRATS david-p! I was wondering if we would ever get this one! Well Done!

And thank you mizgeorge for such a great journey into the Oriental world of fountain pen ink! I have added about 6 inks to my "Gotta buy" list.

    Wow! Thanks for the opportunity!

Interesting that PenBBs has such a large series of inks. I am tempted to explore them; but I cannot find a supplier in the EU, though.

I wasnt expecting to win again so soon, and am rather bushed at the moment, so it will be tomorrow before I have my act together. What time works best for those in the US? How about noon in Chicago which is 6pm in London?

You can get a few from the wonderful Sakura Gallery - https://www.sakurafountainpengallery...-amp-vullingen - who have many other exotic inks that I covet.

I tend to just get them from aliexpress when there's a good shipping offer available - three bottles generally fly below the border control vultures and the sellers usually throw in a free pen, which can be handy for playing with.

I've found some that I like a lot, but I do try to double check with a couple of other sites (Vanness in the US or Deskbandit in Aus are good for this) as the sellers' colour representations can be a little creative.

    Tomorrow would be lovely

I certainly have difficulty with these PenBBS inks!
    Well done david-p!

Anytime at all is fine by me. I just get to guessing when I can.

Don't worry thi, I think I've only got two or three more of them inked up at the moment.... And there are always the clues to follow!

For anyone who was unsure about the the clues, bamboo was for the panda (though I've subsequently been told it looks like a random bear because it's not in black and white), and Cynthia is one of the personifications of the Greek goddess Artemis (born, according to legend, on Mount Cynthus), particularly when she's being a lunar goddess. I did consider the other Greek option - Selene - but preferred Cynthia for a panda somehow.

Thoth, is, of course, the Egyptian moon god. Amongst other things, he is also credited with the being the inventor of writing.
