I know that feeling only too well! I think you'd enjoy the Laban Greek Mythology inks - they're apparently made in Austria (presumably by the mysterious factory that produces Montblanc inks as well as many others) and are really very nice to use, as well as being very sensibly priced. I used another of these (the Demeter Brown) a few weeks ago as a guessing ink, and have been using all five of them pretty regularly since I got them. The Pink and Orange will certainly be re-purchased when they're finished as they're particularly nice colours, and I suspect some of the others will be too.

I have googled everything I can think of in English and German to discover any information about this mysterious ink factory said to be in Austria. I can find no trace of it: all that come up are pages about long defunct companies. Even more mysterious is the fact that its presumed products are not available in retail stores here!

I have seen suggestions it may be Sellner in Wels...no hard proof however.

Hmm. Thanks. They are pretty cagey about what they really sell. No Seller branding on the markers or cartridges. "In addition, due to the strong international orientation, the company is currently yielding an export rate of over 90%." Presumably this means that 95% of their product is exported, which explains their invisibility here. Another Austrian company makes what seem to be the best fans for desktop computers (Noctua). I knew about them for some years, though I recently only found out by accident that they are Austrian.
