It's quite close to Essri... but depending paper it oxidizes to blue/ black...

There's a story behind this one.

I was looking for a nail file in my bedside drawer at the weekend. I couldn't find one, but that's by the by as I heard a clunk and something dropped into the drawer - it had obviously been caught in the rather over-engineered runner mechanism. A bit more rummaging and I realised what had fallen down was this pen.

It has been missing for at least 17 years. Probably longer, and I think has been through at least three house moves without budging from its hiding place.

It's not a pen I would even give a second glance to now, but it was a gift from my lovely stepfather, of whom I am immeasurably fond, and because of that, I've missed it.

The extraordinary thing, given that it is a slip cap from around the 90s, with a less than secure converter, is that I opened it, it wrote. First time. No skipping, no hard starts, no problems. The ink was pretty concentrated, but it still wrote. I'm not sure if that says more for the pen or the ink (it was a long since out of production MB).

I couldn't find an ink called serendipity (though I'm sure there's probably one out there), so I opted for something that seemed like a nice colour match, and which I like.

No clues to this one - it's too easy!

The ink looks like it could be either MB Royal Blue or MB Permanent Blue.
