Or maybe it's Bleu Mystère, which would be very appropriate, given the mystery of the vanishing pen.

Thanks to the magic of chromas, I do know now what it is, though I know others have been caught out with the same thing...

    Haha!
They are notorious for both changing colours and for sending out mis-labelled inks. It took me four attempts (and a lot of chroma strips) before I identified what this particular bit of mislabelling actually was.

And I think DrPenfection will know what I'm talking about

    Yes, they are indeed.

I can tell you that my first Omi Osun was actually Bleu Equinoxe 5. But my second Bleu Equinoxe 5 turned out to be Bleu Equinoxe 6, Botany Bay and Bonne Esperance were switched as were Oconto and Baikal. And I won't even talk about Bleu Ultramarine and Bleu Azur.

So, with your sample, it could be labelled any of the above.

Sometime you should try a side by side of Mediterreanee, Atlantique and Pacifique. They all are just slightly lighter variations - or should I say the ones that I have are. Mediterreanee might be just a touch bluer.

Oooooooooooh. Maybe that's why my Equinoxe #5 looks nothing like the swatches on Sakura's website. And that was why I was a little confused the other day, Mizgeorge, when you called Baikal "a grey ink". My bottle of Baikal is definitely leaning more towards a dusty violet, much like in the swatch on Sakura's website:

And with that, I'm giving this one to DrPenfection!

It is indeed Equinox 5 - mislabelled as Omi Osun! It wasn't until I'd bought most of the rest of the blues that I could accurately identify what it was I've got (and to get the Omi Osun I had originally intended to buy).

As it turns out, I love Equinox 5, and use Omi Osun only rarely.

I still love Callifolio inks, and in some ways find the labelling and batch eccentricities charming, and appropriate for type of producers they are.

One of these days we should all get together and see what sort of comparisons we'd get with our unique combinations of these inks - I know my collection would bear very little resemblance to any other I've seen

    Over to you Doc!

Thanks mizgeorge letting us know about your nuances view of Califolio inks.

    Thank you, mizgeorge!

I agree. I love my Callifolio inks. Besides being affordable (I usually buy in the pouches and decant to glass bottles), I love the watercolor effects of the ink. I agree - we should do a comparison sometime. It would be interesting. My Equinoxe 5 does not look like what you posted. It is more "tealish".

We are going to change gears here, and do something different.

Below is a photo of a doodle in my journal. I doodle a lot in my journal.

Please tell me the names of the three inks, their brand name and their country of origin.

Each correct brand = 1 point
Each correct ink name = 1 point
Each correct country of origin = 1 point

    Bonus points:
Put all three (brand, ink name and country of origin) together = +1 point
Swoops (correct guess of band, ink name and country of origin on the first guess) = +2 points

The person with the highest points within the next 24 hours wins (that would be by 2:00 am London time Thursday morning).

Here is the one and only photo:

    IMG_7044.jpg

The photo was taken in daylight. The paper is Tomoe River, then pens used are a MB JFK (BB nib), a Lamy Studio (M nib) and a Lamy Scala (OM nib).

    Your clues are as follows:

1). All of the inks are from well-known, easily accessible brands.
2). None of the inks are limited or special editions.
    3). None are shimmer inks.

Good luck! And have fun with this.

    The clock starts now.

    Unfortunately, no.

But truthfully, I would have probably started with both of these.
