@mizgeorge, I get it about E. Blyton. Lets say, it was the only escape I had, hence my fond memories...
These off topic subjects are fun... it feels we're in front of a virtual inky board game, chatting while playing....

No, none of these. And I agree with you about the "back-chat". And I have to admit, I don't remember ever reading E. Blyton. I do remember the adventures of Pippi Longstocking. But even from an early age, I was reading more adult books - Steinbeck, Hemingway, etc. I read all of Churchill's books by the time I was 13. My father, even though uneducated, was very much of a history buff and somewhat an intellectual, as long as it had a practical application or hope for a practical application.
Back to the topic.
Do we need a clue?
Yazeh (March 15th, 2022)
A clue would be super. I can’t find any Tolkien-esque hints in what is written other than it is an alluring gold… where is my precious???

A clue is NOT contained in the quote - well not directly.
Here is your first hint:
It is NOT a Taiwanese ink.

Hint #2 - The brand has not be named yet.
@Dr. P good for you. I was more into novels. The longer, the better. And I consumed anything, though I have to admit I had a lot of difficulty with Jane Austen. For some reason I favoured Russian/ French literature. The more morose the more I liked it. Not anymore though

Sorry, I'm a bit absent at the moment - I'm working on a fundraiser for Ukraine with a bit of a deadline. I'll try to pop back in later once I've got things into various stages of polishing!

Yazeh, those are some great guesses, but no to all!
I too am a great fan of really long novels. Jane Austen was no problem for me other than I thought them rather simplistic. I am still a great fan of Ayn Rand, although most people miss the great literature in favor of her politics. But give me a James Michener novel anyday. I have read them all, as well as Robert Ludlum and James Clavell. I'm not too fond of their wannabes though.
Another hint?
It isn't a Chinese ink.

@mizgeorge amazing!
@Dr. P.. the longest series I read was by the French Author Robert Merle, named Fortune de France. Merle was a Prix Goncourt winner in his younger years. But in his later years, he wrote this epic historic novel, about a family of Huguenots living in Southern France in the tumultuous years before the St. Barthelemy massacre.
What was amazing about it, was that how he mixed 15th century and modern French to create his magnum opus. I was lucky enough to read and reread them in French. They have been translated in English, but I'm not sure if the translator has managed to mix old/modern English to create the atmosphere of the series.

Sorry I’ve also been a bit absent though sadly for nothing as brilliant as a fundraiser. Just the work usual.
That’s a lovely color, but oddly, I thought it was more orange when I first saw it this morning on my PC but my phone is now telling me that it is distinctly yellow!! Hmmmm…
Loads of guesses so far, but let me go ahead and throw this one into the mix:

So close, Yazeh, but no cigar!
Never learned French not because I didn't want to. The only language taught in my early years was Spanish. I did take a year of German in college and I've learned a few words here and there of other languages in my travels.
