Honestly I was surprised on the basis of some scans, but someone had come up with a convincing comparison of the two, so... I thought Chrissy had got it with Honey!

Well, I'm somewhat stumped - the Chinese are pretty much limited to blues, blacks and reds (maybe greens?) as far as I can tell, and several others are better versed in Japanese inks than I, so that's highly unlikely. I think we must perforce go south as well as east, so...

Can't work out if Bungubox Kabayaki Hamanako Eel was the wrong direction geographically, chromatically or gastronomically. So how about Bungubox Nostalgia?

I have a writing sample of it on Apica Premium that I love, but now that I've been using it on Kokuyo Campus paper, I don't like it as much any more
But it wasn't a blue and I figured it might take more than a hot second for you guys to guess
