I have always believed that Bethge inks are relabelled Herbin inks, and are standard Herbin colours. I once found a thread on FPN that suggested they were.

There were some for sale a while ago on ebay and they were standard Herbin colours.

Prize for most obscure to that man! New to me - their cartridges look very Herbin-esque, are their inks?

I have been unable to find much about Bethge, but the little I have found suggests the inks are made by Herbin. The interesting question is whether they are just re-labelling of existing Herbin colours, or custom colours that Herbin makes for them.

We need a volunteer to investigate

It is also suspected that Louis Vuitton inks are made by Herbin, which makes sense.

I have all the Super5 inks, except Darmstadt. They are good inks, if a bit expensive, and I like them too. I'm not surprised that they are good quality, being made by Rohrer and Klingner. They are one of my favourite ink makers.


Anyway, re next ink I must apologise - I'm unable to post one for guessing as I'm now away from home unexpectedly due to a family illness. I'd be very grateful if someone would take my turn.......

That's good to know. I have been very impressed by the R&K inks I have so far. Super5 seems to be different colours to the R&K ranges. I'm adding Delhi to my evergrowing "inks to buy" list.

Ah, that's helpful. I think I can live happily without them; I like my Herbins but feel no particular need to duplicate.

Indeed, R&K do make good stuff. Although if they did away with the aluminium-cap-on-glass bottle config I wouldn't entirely mind. Having enjoyed Delhi, I went to look with a view to purchasing another one (or two) and I'm sure I didn't pay as much as they seem to be now. Not cheap, I remember that, but still seemed a bit more "Whoa" than I remembered. Hey ho.
