Which is why I apologised from the very start - unfortunate it should happen to be the only one handy just after I had vented my frustration about trying to guess them! But all available swabs seem to be much the same colour, so I don't think we need declare shenanigans.

Hmmm, Weevil claimed that purples are difficult to guess, I claim that brown inks are difficult to guess.

Oh well, they're all difficult to guess, but it seems that more people perceive purples differently, so you could have a sample that one person will view as spot on, and another might wonder if you have a faulty batch of that ink!

I will plump for an unlikely candidate - Diamine Ochre?
