I’ll guess Pelikan Ruby on the red and pilot blue for the green. I’m less confident about one of those

Yes, you're going rather astray with the Pelikan there... 'Tis neither of those.

As we're on a new page straight off, I'll repost the sample to save some clicking:

Very nearly was the first, and forgot I had a cartridge of the latter. So nope, not these, but certainly in the Ink Cellar. Closer with the green; further away on the red.

The only other green Mb I’m familiar with is racing green so I’ll guess that even though I’ve never seen the ink.

Apologies; should have said it's not an MB ink. Closeness and distance are more geographical. A bit of a recap:

    • My poor illustration of holly leaves was not by chance.
    • You, mulrich, guessed Pelikan Ruby and Pilot Blue - one of these was much closer to the truth than you probably expected.
    • MB and Pelikan are both in the same regional ballpark for one of them.

Alas, not Aventurine. Let's kick Pelikan into touch.

Wandering off course, I'm afraid, Scooby. But let it not be entirely in vain, and dismiss all possibilities from both Herbin and Monteverde.

Well, if I can't get it right at least I can help others be less wrong.

    Not Montblanc
    Not Pelikan
    Not J. Herbin
    Not Monteverde

One of the two is geographically close to MB and Pelikan.

That would be Pilot, but it confuses me. Mulrich guessed Pilot Blue as a green, but I'm not familiar with that ink existing. Their PI line have Japanese names, and none of them are just "blue". The Namiki line of inks has a "blue", but there is nothing green about it.

Presuming Pilot was close and it's actually a Pilot Iroshizuku ink then I'm still confused. Shin-ryoku is too light to be the green and Momiji seems too pink to be the red. Thus I'm not sure if this covers the green ink or the red ink, and I don't know if I should look for greens or reds as the geographically close to MB/Pilot guess. If I pretend the red is actually Momiji then I would say a geographically similar green might be Kaweco Palm Green...and palm leaves parallels your holly leaves hint.

It's a novel way to get there, but We have a winner! Well done, Scooby!

It is, indeed, PI Momiji and Kaweco Palm Green. I gather Momiji is the Japanese for acer palmatum or the palmate maple, so they seemed destined to be together. I think the colour of Momiji here may have the Pelikan to thank; in a drier pen I find it pretty much too pink to bear.

Ah ha! Watching Sherlock has paid off! I'll ink up a new pen this evening and post something tomorrow when lighting is more conducive to photos.

    Here's the new test.

Written on an Apica notepad with a Waterman Charleston 18kt stub converted to a cursive italic. Lighting provided, yet again, by my "daylight" LED desk lamp.

I feel the need to channel Wile E Coyote, but instead will revert to old habits myself and proffer Diamine Sargasso Sea?

I have nothing against the Coyote, but it was wise not to channel him here. It is definitely not PRDCSSB . It is also not Diamine Sargasso Sea, but your first toss did land accurately on the manufacturer map. In my experience with Sargasso Sea it is darker than the mystery ink.
