It's actually very pretty colour - I must play more with it to see what it can do in some other pens. I bought it on a whim (I needed to add something to reach a shipping threshold), and it was just right for that Desiderata, so there it has stayed.

I like Pennonia inks a lot - and it's nice to be able to support an artisan maker. I also think they're great value for some nice unusual colours. I just wish I could pronounce them properly, and also that the translations were a bit more consistent.

mizgeorge - do you color coordinate all of your pens and have only one pen per ink?

Alright, here we go... this one ought to be too tough for mizgeorge, and maybe even for Ptero, to get on the first try.

I'll give you all one hint to start the ball rolling: it is not Pelikan 4001 Königsblau.

Pen is an old Diplomat 105 with a (schoolkid's) Pfannenfeder. Paper is, fittingly, an ordinary office notepad (white).

    Let's hear your best guesses!

Haha! No! I'd need about fifty more orange pens to start with. I do tend to match inks to coloured pens though, and every now and again the perfect matches show up. Black pens are allowed to have any colour they like.

Now. The new one. I'll start with

    Taccia Jeans Indigo
    Robert Oster School Blue
    Diamine Pelham Blue

Yazeh, I think the monitor calibration didn't take... maybe even made things worse! Those inks look quite teal to me, but this ink is about as blue as blue can be.

Colorverse Quasar? (This is one of the inks I like too, as well as the number 42).

All very good guesses, Rad, definitely on the right track color-wise. But it's not any of those inks. Not even the #42 - what a funny coincidence!

Not a blue black ink. It’s not a light blue, either. Maybe a bit darker than a true medium blue, but certainly not as dark as a blue black.

    Colorverse Saturn V
    Robert Oster Tokyo Denim Blue

Am I right in not really seeing any sheen on this one?

Wow! That means a lot of pens!

While I have quite a few pens, I could never even come close to matching pens with ink. Because I seem to have a variety of nibs, I tend to pair the nib with the kind of ink it would write best with rather than color. For example, I can never put a super wet ink like J. Herbin Eclat de Saphir with my very wet MB JFK with BB nib. They match but not in terms of wetness.

Back to the topic at hand.

    Scribe Indigo
    Akkerman Passage Blauw
Callifolio Bleu Azur or Bleu Ultramarine or maybe Omi Osun
    Monteverde Horizon Blue

and now I am off to make dinner
