It it indeed Pennonia Kékfestö or Embroidery Blue! Well done, mizgeorge!! (And bonus points for Yazeh getting me to give the early hint about it not being just a standard blue ink from one of the standard brands )

I am curious if my little drawing was the huge visual clue that I thought it might be.

I got this ink because the color and the name reminded me of the blue the Dutch also used for their Delft's Blue but also as a traditional color for embroidery. (This is also why I love the whole concept of Pennonia being about daily life in Hungary.) And I'm sure you are all aware of the fact that Delft Blue was supposed to be porcelain like the Chinese made, except that no one could figure out how to make the porcelain. So, the 'Delft Blue Porcelain' is not actually porcelain but is rather the same kind of glazed pottery as the Spanish and Portuguese Majolica.

Oh, and I LOVE all your creative names for my cat! His name is Leo, short for Leopold Baryshnikov because he walks like a ballet dancer and looks like he's wearing white tights. He's also normally an extremely polite cat who sits quietly somewhere until someone notices him and guesses what he wants. Unless he really, really, REALLY needs something, and then he sits right in the middle of whatever it is you are doing and flicks his tail back and forth over your work. I'm curious to know, though, why mizgeorge's new cat should be named Diplo?

Anyway, after all that random information... you're up, mizgeorge! Can't wait to see what you've got for us!
I love your explanation and your design. I didn't get it, but then again I have been very distracted the last few days. Work related stuff. In addition to the cat stuff mentioned above, I also used to own a company that imported and sold European porcelain, mostly Danish. Enough about me.

So, thank you Darla for sharing your beautiful new ink with us.

    And well done mizgeorge!

And Dr P, what a beautiful cat! I always thought Himalayans were so pretty! But I'm so sorry to hear you developed allergies, and especially so bad that you ended up in the hospital for a week - that's terrible! And how heart-breaking to have to rehome all your babies! But I'm glad your husband was able to find a good home for them and you can enjoy having your dogs!!

We had both cats and dogs when I was growing up, but my husband only ever had cats, so he's not really a dog person. And cats have always been a better fit for our lifestyle. But I do like dogs and think that I would like to have a (small) dog again at some point. Maybe I will someday.

Sorry for the late appearance today! Work keeps getting in the way, which is very thoughtless of it! I'm so pleased I got this one - it's an ink I like very much indeed, and use all the time - and yes, the drawing was a brilliant clue! I'd still like to see more of the cat though

DrPenfection - Himalayas are one of my dream cats - the ones I've met have always had just the sweetest temperaments, not to mention being so utterly beautiful. And they're allowed to know how lovely they are!!

    New ink shortly

And here you go! I'd say this one was not very hard. Not super easy, but shouldn't be too much of a challenge!!

I'd say the colour was pretty accurate, but the shimmer is definitely more lilac than it looks on the swatch (so hard to capture with a picture!)

And this is the ink that's now in it!!! And one I highly recommend - it's one of the wettest Kyoto inks I've had (they tend to be notoriously dry) and is just a pleasure to use!

Well done Darla - super quick there - and back to you !!

    Bravo @Darla...
Maybe we should let you and mizgeorge play pingpong between yourselves.... I feel like a disabused cat running after a ball!

Here's your chance for a revanche, Yazeh. Something tells me that this may not be an easy ink for mizgeorge to guess. I could be wrong but it's just a feeling...

And now for something completely different:
    IMG_2363.JPGIMG_2364.JPG

Apologies for the artificial light but you will thank me that you don't have to get out your sunglasses...

And here's the scan just in case it helps, although I find it much too red for this ink. It does pick up some of the undertones.

    Good luck!

Van Dieman's Great Nugget Pumpkin (they should have named it "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" but that may be a bit before your time, Darla.
