Getting much closer. Muruai looks like a slightly lighter cousin to this ink.

Nope. The manufacturer is correct but not the brand.

I finished off the pen with this ink yesterday so I can't post another sample (I don't like the color so I don't want to ink another pen with it). To recap the clues, it's not a European ink, it's dark green, and is manufactured by the same company that makes Tokiwa Matsu but sold under a different brand name.

Hi,

my guess is a blue-black IG ink.
For Pelikan 4001 BB there is the small green cast missing. Too much saturation for Akkermann...
So I say R&K Salix.

I will go with Diamine Registrar's Blue-Black as I've been testing it out lately. And it smells a bit weird.

Ding ding ding!

I knew I should have made the hints a little more oblique.

Salix is my first true iron gall ink and the smell of iron is quite pungent.

Ah, great!

This ink just arrived here last week.
I like Salix (and how it smells) as much as Pelikan BB and R&K Scabiosa...
Fine inks for wet writers like my Swans with flex nibs, as if they were made for each other. :-)
