I AM GOING INSANE WITH FRUSTRATION HERE. (Turns out there isn't a computer breaking smilie on here. Sigh.)

However, a new day, evidently no-one else is up yet, so finally I have success:

Ah, no. That would appear to be a bit too red, and definitely too saturated. Also:

It's not a Diamine ink. (gasp!)

Not a GvFC ink. Maybe a bit too blue, but it's such a hard thing to judge with purples as everyone's perception differs more with them than, it seems, any other colour. Something I remembered only after I'd chosen this ink.

Saturation is very similar, but 4001 is pinker.

    It's neither Lamy nor Pelikan.

I doubt if it's Herbin's Violette Pensée. What about Califolio's Violet?
Where is Jens. He's the king of dry ink

King of dry ink or no, where is Jens?

Don't know Callifolio Violet, but a search suggests it may edge too blue mayhap. Violette Pensée I do know, and is considerably paler. If I thought I could get the pic to upload, I'd do you a comparison with that and a guess or two you've already made.

But nil desperandum, a happy side effect is that I will eliminate the inks of France from your options.

You doubt correctly. I would consider that a blue. And, wait for it... it's not from Japan. (more gasps)

That appears to be trending a little too pink too, but on the other hand it has ventured into geographically warmer waters.

Sorry, can't look them up to see how visually close your guesses are at the moment.
