Thanks Weevil, I' just finished something, I will take a photo tomorrow morning with natural light.

May I ask you how you like the Super 5 ink and describe your experiences a bit?

They are advertised as document proof certified and absolute waterproof but are not the cheapest ones.
Till now I never tried one, but the black one may be interesting for me for drawing purposes.

Well, I like them for the uncommon colours, and thus only have three of them - Delhi, Australia, and Dublin. They are extremely water resistant, although there is a little bit of colour movement under a wash. (For a truly never-going-anywhere black, I favour Platinum Carbon Black.) So far I've only had them in Platinum's with "slip and seal" caps, but even so they do tend to dry out a little if kept upright. Nothing a quick dot and squiggle won't get started again, but definitely not a case of instant flow if unused for 24hrs. Kept horizontal, they seem better. Kinda dusty in appearance - Australia in particular - and in terms of modern trends for super-flowing Sailor-esque inks, dry. Personally I think they're a little wetter than, say, Pelikan 4001s, but certainly not gushers. Put it this way; I choked on the price a fair bit myself, but liked Delhi enough that I stumped up for Australia and Dublin despite that. Although I did wait for a stockist to have a decent discount first. So, suppose that means I like them, but could live without them...?

Now, your scary warrior... A dark blue with, mayhap, a touch of greenish sheen? Ack, I dunno. How about R&K Verdigris?

    Thanks for the infos.

    Nope it's not a R&K ink

Regarding sheen, no it hasn't a green sheen.
What you see on top of his head somehow become visible when I washed that part several times, I think you can ignore it.
For his face I used pure unwashed ink applied with a brush,
There on the heavy inked areas as well as on the heavy Inked dip nib lines I notice a bit of a reddish sheen.

BTW. The Super 5 inks are also manufactured by R&K.
A comparison between the R&K Dokumentus and Super 5 inks would be interesting. (Both pigmented inks)

grainweevil, thanks for the write-up. I've been curious about Super5 inks for some time now, but haven't gotten around to getting a sample (my sample queue is currently in the low 3 figures right now... so maybe I shouldn't add to it!)

As for the new MI... is it Iroshizuku Shin Kai?

Really good color match but it is not a Iroshizuku ink.

    It would indeed.

No problem. If I was even slightly organised I'd do a proper review.

Anyway, the mystery ink; and darn it, thought it was sheening on that big dark blob in the middle. Ack, well. I shall take a wildly uneducated guess at... Diamine Blue Black?

Yes, the big blob show the red sheen.

Nope not a Diamine ink this time.
But price wise Diamine is much closer to the mystery ink than the previously guessed Iro ink

Nope, not a Lamy ink, but you are on the right continent.

Whoo-hoo! I don't think I usually end up on the right continent with a SWAG

    So... Montblanc Midnight Blue?

Not bad, but unfortunately it is not a Montblanc ink.
The mystery ink is cheaper than the Montblanc inks.

This time you were good (and I think this was also true in the past).

    We have a winner !!!

I think many of the pictures (including reviews) do not to justice to this ink.
By no way it is a grey ink.
It is (at least in my eyes) a really good dark blue(-black).
    I can recommend this one.
In general I´m really positive surprised by the Seitz-Kreuznach inks, great colors, great behavior ( I´m convinced that the German ones are made by R&K, the Austrian maybe from the the same source as Montblanc or Monteverde).

I agree. This is one of the few European dark blue inks I like & I bought one of the big 100ml bottles. It's a fairly close match to Mb JFK in my opinion but it is actually better behaved, has better shading & is much much better value than the Mb.

It's evening here now and I'm going away for a few days early tomorrow morning. If someone else wants to have a go & put up an ink for guessing, please go ahead & be my guest.

Edit to add: I agree about S-K inks - I think they're good inks for the money. But their Tundra Green is absolutely awful. I think they forgot to add any dye!

Hope you had a good trip, Migo.

Now some online samples look like it could be, and some decidedly don't, but I shall take an opening shot with Sailor Irori?
