That’s a lovely ink, but it’s not that one I’m afraid.

I used its cousin, Walden Pond Blue, in a letter recently. Apparently it still isn't dry 3 1/2 weeks later. According to the recipient it doesn't just smudge slightly; it comes off all over his hands, and stains skin badly. As much as I like sheen, an ink has to remain usable and its 'base' colour shouldn't be obscured to the extent of these two OS inks.
Exactly my experience with both inks. The color of both is pleasant, but the sheen is so ridiculous and complete that it's hard to tell which is the base color and which is the sheen. I happened to smudge some Walden Pond just a few minutes ago. I do like the base color though. Very similar to MB Twilight Blue for a lot less money, but obviously more sheen and less drying. The lack of drying is as bad or worse than what I've found with PRDCSSB, which still smudges years later.

    Since no one's guessing I'll toss out a couple…

Cross Violet (I know you said the ink wasn't readily available but this looks really close)
    De Atramentis Magenta Violet

Neither is the correct ink, but you’re right, it is really close to Cross Violet.

    It’s a European ink.

No, not that one I’m afraid. It’s quite a bit more saturated than a Herbin ink. However, it is French.

Not the one either. Sadly it’s much more hard to find these days than that brand.

I think that moves past my knowledge of ink makers. Looking forward to learning a new brand.

It’s actually a well-known brand, especially their pens. But these days they only sell limited ink colours (like blue & black).

Neither of those inks, or indeed brands.

Clue: think metal pens & cigarette lighters.

Thanks Migo but with your last hint it was quite easy , in the meanwhile I prepared something and will take a picture tomorrow morning with daylight.

Btw. what happened with your Inktober project?
I missed postings from it.... (Or did I missed the thread?)

I thought that clue would help :-)

Life happened, so Inktober didn’t. I moved back from Australia to the U.K, with all the associated disruption and turbulence.
