It is indeed Petrichor - it's a lovely ink, and one I've been using a lot recently - it's very like another favourite - Vinta Armada - though the latter is a little bluer.

I thought the picture would be a giveaway with all that pink coming through!

The first photo of this review was a dead giveaway: https://www.wellappointeddesk.com/20...nks-petrichor/ There's an amazing review of this ink on FPN from Nov 2019 that shows all the color variation in all it's glory. It also says it behaves 'atrociously' which is why I was wondering if that Geha is a dry writer. I may have to get a bottle of it just to play around with in various pens (and especially some old German pistons!).

Yazeh, you're the one who guessed this ink. I just used your 'cheat sheet'!

I hadn't seen that review Darla (I'm not much good at looking at reviews other than here and FPN), but I had seen the one on FPN, and it surprised me as I haven't had the same problem with any of my Troublemaker inks, with the possible exception of one of my bottles of Milky Ocean, which I had to treat with flow aid. I tend to favour slightly wetter pens, though, and I'm ready to sacrifice a little ink lubrication to get the gorgeous chromashading that inks like this can deliver.

I have had an issue with just one Troublemaker bottle, but that was SITB rather than performance. Curiously, this only ever seems to happen to me with green inks...

That's good to hear! Thanks for taking down the last barrier I had to getting ANOTHER ink over my self-imposed limit. I had also decided I wanted it before I read the 'atrocious' part, haha! And I have mostly wet writers and have been trying to make sure I buy more inks that are a bit drier. As a newbie, I started out with too many wet pens with M nibs and wet, heavily shading inks - not great for writing and taking notes!

And since Yazeh is hiding and waiting until I pretend that I swooped in and won I went ahead and prepared a little ink to guess. Please don't laugh at my drawing - this was the first time trying to draw one of these little cats AND trying to get a very light wash with the ink. My poor little kitty ended up looking more like lumpy sushi than a cat!

Anyway, this is a sample I received with an order from a pen shop today, so it's a completely new ink for me. This is directly under my desk lamp but it's already late evening here, so as usual, it's quite dark. I tried a scan but it was MUCH too bright red, so these will have to do. (If it turns out too difficult, I'll try to get a photo in the light grey of day rather than the dark of night - we have no blue skies at the moment ...)

All done with a glass dip pen and a brush on Clairefontaine Triomphe (which would normally look white...sorry)

    Good luck!

That's the sweetest drawing Darla - I love it - very Japanese, but not in a sushi kind of way!

    I'll kick off with

    Taccia Hokusai-Benitsuchi
    Noodler's Antietam
    Colorverse Tango

Thank you mizgeorge. It was an unplanned visit but a necessary one. My mother is 90 and is now traveling the dementia pathway, which is difficult. But we are all blessed that my brother lives with her and cares for her.

My mother is an artist and, thankfully, has not lost her desire to paint, although she does spend a lot of time setting up. Anyway, after dealing with medical stuff, we have been painting each day. While unplanned, it is a nice respite from work.

Welcome back, DrPenfection! Adjusting to dementia is complicated. Spending your days painting does sound superb, though!
(My MIL had MCI, short-term memory loss, which luckily wasn't degenerative but did require care/supervision. Wishing you and your family loads of love & strength!)

Good guesses on the ink, but I'm afraid it is none of the above.

And even though my small ink collection is quite eclectic and I don't have any go-to favorites that any of you know, I still feel like I should give you a least an elimination hint, simply because this ink was a free sample and therefore completely random unless you happen to know the pen shop I ordered from:
It's not Noodler's and it's not Diamine. Oh, and the pen shop is here in Europe, so it's not an unobtainable Birmingham either.

I feel for you, Dr. P. My grandma was taken away by Dementia. But I'm glad she paints. Art and especially music help a lot when the mind becomes clouded.
