They have put a few of the aquarelle inks on their website. Their description: "These inks can be used with brushes, penholders and airbrushes on drawing paper, watercolour paper and cardboard." See, for example, https://www.jacquesherbin.com/en/cat...l/category/57/

I have briefly tried delving into using watercolor paint with flex nib dip pens without much success - others seem to be able to get it to work, though. Perhaps these would work better. (?)

More clues, reveal this (rather difficult) one and put up an easier one, or are we on hiatus for a bit?

I'm good with whatever - I am just worried that this orange might have caused this thread to come to a screeching halt!

Don't be. I'm still out of commission. I still get headaches, in front of the screen. So, I have to use my screen time judiciously

No worries if we are all taking a break. I am frantically trying to finish up projects in the next week before I get ready to visit my daughter.

would you like a 'bonus' ink to guess..?

i have some unopened bottles of limited edition goodness i'm sure you're just going to love.

and then some random samples from like a decade ago that may or may not be representstive of their contemporary counterparts...

That would be great. It might even kickstart us back into action again. Unfortunately a couple of us have had health issues that have kept us from participating properly, but I'm happy to give it a go!

I look into this thread now and again but gave up trying to guess ages ago as the ink brands often seemed to be too obscure for me. As we're on page 1265 I suppose all of the "easier" ones have already gone. I don't have anything "obscure" enough to put up even if I managed to guess one right. LOL

    Cool Re: guess the ink!

this is from a sample which i acquired around about the time i started this thread,
the manufacturer was fairly new to the ink world at the time but already very popular and growing exponentially.

this ink is apparently still available from at least one UK retailer.

Sorry to read about you suffering headaches whilst looking at screen.
I went and found these tips for you......
The second link is for windows 11, bottom link window 10.
Also available is clip on filters to darken the polarization. I don't know any stores in USA so changed my amazon to USA and here is what I found,..

Apologies if I'm barking up the wrong tree. Either way, hope you get the headaches sorted.

I am going ahead and revealing the last ink. It's a difficult one and I think we should get a fresh start with SIR's offering.

It is Ostrich 2018 Flower Series Poppy. A photo from before is below to help Google sort out an image search, just in case.

    Onward and upward!

Let's see. You started this thread in 2016. I was using fountain pens regularly around that time but I hadn't gotten bitten by the ink bug yet.

I'm thinking maybe Ferris Wheel Press or Robert Oster. I have no idea when these came out:

Ferris Wheel Press Wondrous Winterberry, Candy Marsala
    Robert Oster Burgundy, Astorquiza Rot
