Default Dream pen that doesn't exist - yet...

Hello there, geeks! Have you ever looked at available offerings from current or past manufacturers and thought "I'd like this pen, but rather like THAT!" and the version you'd like isn't manufactured (yet? any more?).
OK, for me it would be a LAMY CP1, matte black like currently available, BUT with a black metal section, black clip, and the black-and-gold 14k nib from the Imporium. Second would be a similar UNIC re-installment. There you go, now fire away!

Nope. I've never felt that way.

I like rose gold, so... I'd quite like a Sailor KOP Pro Gear and/or modern Wahl-Eversharp Oversized Decoband (two pens which I am presently happy to want and not have) in black ebonite with rose gold trim and nibs; yum, nice thoughts, thanks!

That sounds grand! I just recently got a Sailor 1911 L in the 'Black Luster' (black with metal section and all ruthenium trim) and really like off-gold/off-silver trim such as ruthenium black and rose gold! Now you got me thinking about an ebonite KOP with ruthenium clip and nib!

It just so happens that I know a pen restorer who has replating as part of his restoration skills repertoire and has on occasion undertaken custom replating work...

Oversized Conical nib Sheaffer pneumatic filler that was about the size of an oversized Crest.

I knew the frustration until I recently acquired this one:

A Montblanc 142 Green Striated FP circa 1955. I have about 100 or so pens and have been seriously collecting since the 1980s. I have owned many of the "more esteemed" Montblancs LEs and Writer's Editions, Omas Extras, Parker Duofolds, Waterman Edson's... all that have ripped my wallet apart over the decades, but this 142 shames them all, from a quality, vintage age, beauty, and writing experience perspective.

Now I am at the point of thinking that I may have hit the personal pinnacle in my collection. Where do I go from here? A different frustration indeed!

What a beauty! Thanks for sharing - yes, this is a pinnacle pen. And a small one - which I like a lot!

To be precise, my sentiments exactly!

I recently had a double first, my first vintage pen and my first Montblanc; the writing performance is genuinely something else, and as you say bisquitlips, where does one go from there?!

This slightly bigger so it could fit a converter. With a matte lacquer section instead of the rubberized one and engraved branding above the section rather then printed that can wear off. Because of these issues I have had to accept it's one of those pens that I have to use in frequently.
