Looking at a near mint type one 120 for c.£60 restored, seems like a reasonable price - what do y'all reckon?

I think that £ 60 is quite steep for a Pelikan 120.
Check this auction on ebay.de for a good looking 120 and much cheaper than £60:

Thanks Jos, that's half the price!
Those are also very honest photos, but I'd rate the condition as average to good at best.

hi, just go to ebay.de and search for "Pelikan 120".
I just saw that the gold plating on the nib of that pen is partially lost, which could explain the lower price. The plating was very thin anyway on these nibs.
If you look around a bit on the German ebay site, I still think that you can find better deals than £ 60 for this particular pen.
I have seen them for $100+ from one or two US sellers, so obviously there is some demand...
Look at the condition of this one for $68

I fully agree, it depends upon where the seller is located. Since these pens are quite common in Germany you will be able to find them cheaper there.
Since the plating on clip and nib was quite thin (it was a school pen after all), I can understand that a mint version will fetch a higher selling price.
It is always interesting to check the "sold items" list in ebay to have an idea about what people pay for these pens.
