    Default Twsbi lava vs orange

So I'm a big twsbi fan. I bought the new lava color and it arrived today. Here it is with my twsbi orange. Can you tell them apart...

I can't either, except thankfully I bought a medium lava, not my usual EF.

I thought twsbi was marketing lava as a different color from orange, to preserve orange's originality. Well good news for all you who wanted an orange when they were sold out. As far as I can see these are the same color.

Is it possible they just sent you the wrong one?

If there's a difference it's mighty subtle. I think Kaputnik might have something there.

The dots on the boxes are more different then the actual pens. Lava top orange bottom

I agree there is maybe a slight difference in just the right light. I'm kinda sad. I was looking forward to a different color. And I feel like this dilutes the rareness of the orange.

I am however happy for those who wanted an orange and didn't get one.

And yes, lava is on the right. Orange is on the left.

I got one too and really can't see the difference either. Some people are saying that the finish on the Lava is smoother than the Orange... but in my opinion that is microscopic if at all. Also, when I think lava I think ingeous, and with that I think rough, so a rougher finish on the Lava would have been better than a smoother one.

I really wish that it had been that deep, dark, red-ish orange that all of the pre-launch images showed... but I still like it

So far, every photo comparison I've seen people do makes it appear that they are identical.

The box labels both say 580AL.

    I don't understand.

Goulet pens addressed this in a recent Q & A.

    They are the same.

Anodized al sometimes has some small change in color. The color difference might be down to that and otherwise it is just a product name change.

I was expecting something more of a change if the pens were different. Turns out that they are not!

I think that something got crossed up and they decided to call it a color. What ever this is. It isn't intentional.
