Question Anyone here use PLATINUM inks?

Haven't come across any PLATINUM ink reviews... anyone around here use 'em? I think HDoug over on FPN does. They look pretty good, though a bit pricey. I recently spotted Engeika has 60ml bottles available for $13.50... plus shipping. Looks pretty good. Not a huge range, but these are all permanent inks.

I do but only in cartridges. I don't need no stinkin' bottles.

I have used some carbon black, but I have used a lot of the rose red pigment - it is definitely one of my favourite inks!

I have still to try their range of 'mix free' inks...

I have all the Mixable inks, as they're now called. They're great 'straight', especially purple and yellow, and are such fun to mix. I've made many bespoke shades using them. They're practically fool-proof.

I was thinking I'd just get the magenta, cyan, and yellow 'to begin with', but you know how that goes ;p

Their Blue-Black is a great iron gall option & an outstanding ink generally.

Carbon Black carts in the Plat desk pen.

I like it a lot. My go to black is Noodles Black Eel, but Carbon Black seems just a bit more dense/dark and less shading (although shading on either of them is negligible). Both seem equally feather-resistant. I'm thinking about getting bottles of carbon black and blue and putting it in a 3776. Platinum really pushes their pigment inks when they are marketing their "slip and seal" caps.

My wife and I have tried the pigmented "Sepia" which turned out to be the most boring brown (and we have easily 20 browns in all sorts of shades) EVER. The mixable inks sound intriguing but I already have a pile of manufacturer-declared mixables from R&K, so I don't feel overly compelled to get into that...
