I'm lucky to be in Australia, where these are made, and I have a silly number of Rob Oster's inks. I recommend (most of) them. Favourites: Deep Sea, Purple Rock, Dark Chocolate, Khaki, Forest Green, Graphite, Bondi Blue, Barossa Grape,Green Olive, Red-Orange.

I have a load of these, bought from Rob Oster here in Aus. Most are lovely colours.
A thread for Oster swabs is a good idea.

Thanks for asking! I only get to do East Coast Shows for the most part (I teach during the school year, and try to get as many shows in as I can given the schedule). I still have stock on site, and have placed a re-order already! (Should be in by end of next week!)

Not sure about availability at Dallas Show... Robert (Oster) has told me that Vanness will have stock at the S.F. Show.
If they go to Dallas, I'm sure it will be there!

Here's a photo of some of the Oster inks. The swabs were done with two passes with a cotton bud. The writing is done with a very fine glass dip nib from the Visconti Art of Writing Set. Paper is a cheap Japanese notebook

What this doesn't show is that most (but not all) of the Osters shade beautifully from a filled fountain pen.

Hope it's OK to post here as I didn't buy any of these from Federalist Pens............

You're right, it is interesting. It has an unusual habit of slightly separating and looking a bit grainy at first, but as it dries it consolidates to a light lilac-violet, with pink undertones. Very pretty.

You can see it here, in a Bexley. Being a pale, less saturated ink it needs a wet, broad nib & is best on slightly toothy, more absorbent paper; although it still looks nice on this smooth Japanese paper.
I'm a fan - it reminds me of Roberson's Lilac Agate :-)

This is just the ink used straight and then washed with a watercolour brush.
