    Default A Christening

I happened to meet one of my cousins at the post office, this morning. We stood in the vestibule talking for a few minutes and he mentioned that the wife of one of his sons just birthed a new kid. They named him Clement, after his great, great grandfather. Well, hell, Gridley; I came home and stirred around in a blanket chest upstairs and came up with Clement's baptismal gown from September 1872. I wrapped it up and gave it to the young family. If it doesn't fit the new Clement, he will at least get to wear it like a bib when he gets splashed. The new parents were still hugging each other over it when I left. How cool is that?

That's cool. One of those moments when we all embrace cross dressing.

If it fits, the kid is gonna look like Swea' Pea. I just hope they don't try to put the dress in the washing machine first.
