    Default Hobonichi Techo 2017

For all you fans of the Hobonichi Techo, I thought I would direct you to this site which gives some information on the new lineup:

    http://www.1101.com/store/techo/2017.../yokoku160729/

The preview page apparently opens Friday 8/19 if you are looking for new covers. The page link above discusses some new features.

The main information page from the Hobonichi store gives this information:

    http://www.1101.com/store/techo/en/f...ver/index.html

I hope you will share any other new information on the Hobo in this thread.

Good idea to start this thread LO :-)

My "spy on the ground" will be scouting out the choices at Tobichi in Minami Aoyama, Tokyo from 20th. After a few years of the Techo and Cousin I might switch to the Avec this year but need a bit more info first. I'm definitely also going to mix it up with another Stalogy 365 planner.

As I've already got a few covers I don't want any more, so I'll hang back and wait till the initial rush on 1 Sept is over before buying mine.

I'll probably order in late September (otherwise I might forget). Don't know yet if there's another cover I want, I already have a red/cream one and a turquoise/green one, but if they have an orange cover (the cheap nylon covers are just fine for me), then maybe I'll get one because I love orange and want more of my stationery in that colour. I'm thinking of making my Techo an at-home planner, since I now have the Dodo Acad-Pad for university (the A5 inserts fit in my lecture notes Filofax, keeping it all together). Haven't decided if I want the English or Japanese Techo - I've used both and don't really have a preference for either.

I don't care about the covers myself--I'm perfectly happy with the one I have, which matches my Lamy Aquamarine pen. I do like to get the Techo itself, as well as some of the accessories (I love my little stencil). I've thought about switching out to something else, say the TextAgenda by Quo Vadis, but I love the Tomoe River paper and the monthly calendars in the front too much to give up the Techo.

I use my Techo as an at-home diary more than anything else. I used Quo Vadis calendars last year as my school planners, but this year I am trying the Midori calenders for the TN Regular sized planner.

I would like to buy my first Hobonichi, but I'm a bit lost. I want the A5, so I think it's the Techo Cousin. But is there an English version? I only see it in Japanese in the web page.

The Hobonichi Techo Original is A6 size in Japanese
The Hobonichi Planner is the English version, also A6
The Cousin is in Japanese only - size A5

Even if you don't read Japanese the Cousin is perfectly useable as it does have the days of the week shown in English.

No orange covers this year, but that deep electric blue (they call it royal blue) cover looks really nice (and I have an ereader cover that's almost identical in hue). If it's still around when I order in late September, I'm definitely getting it. I'm still puzzling over what a "mini butter toast plate" is and why they're including it as a store extra. The silicone holder from last year was odd but useful as a refillable travel tissue holder.

The only thing you miss with the cousin is the Translation of the Quotes really it's perfectly usable though

    Okay I changed my mind
I ordered that wallet cover to see if I may be able consolidate the number of items to remember to take with me

I like the look of the safari cover, but I already have two covers so I'm going to try and be good and just order a Hobonichi Planner. I'll probably end up getting one of the new colour pencil boards though.

Got my techo from jet pens. I have a couple of covers but went ahead and bought the dark blue because it never hurts to have too many. I purchased from Jet Pens because I could get it much faster and a little cheaper.

Yeah I think the total for the techo and the cover was $67 which was a little higher because I chose two day
    Shipping.

If only that case was available in an A5 size. Cloth zippered A5 cases are few and far between.

Yes I agree. I've got several Hobonichi covers and I do like the zippered ones.
I've been using the A5 Cousin for 2 years but next year I'm going back to the A6 Hobo. I love the size of the Cousin but the smaller planner is more convenient when I'm travelling.
