The one-in-progress made it out today. The remaining 3 in my reply pile will likely be replied to out of order (as much as that vexes me), because one of them is pretty heave & deserves a solid, well-reasoned response.

Online arguments are a lot like the Rocky Horror Picture Show.
As soon as the audience begins to participate, any actual content is lost in the resulting chaos and cacophony.
At that point, all you can do is laugh and enjoy the descent into debasement.
Yep.
In case anyone was wondering where my end of month charts were. Last month wasn't a very good letter month. I got 6 and sent 5 (only 3 to pen people). They weren't small letters but still a sad showing.
Hitting an all time high on August 3rd at 77 waiting, I have made some measurable progress this month. 1 in and 17 out (9 to non pen people) bringing me down to 68. The math looks funny but if I have 2 letters from a person and reply to them both in one letter, you get funny math.
3 of those 17 are waiting for Monday morning and I am still writing.
3 ready for tomorrow's post; 12 waiting patiently for my reply
Two tonight, already writing next to a crackling fireplace again!

Another handful out and I got a new pen pal :-)

Two out today.
Writing bad haikus tonight.
One in from Chicago. I've started writing with my 83 year old Aunt. This is her first reply.
I wonder what a polite was is to tell someone that their hand writing is too small and sloppy to read?

An hour and a half to myself, let's see what I can do!
2 in, one from a new surprise penpal!

One in on Saturday from northern England. Thank you very much.
One in, two to write this week when I stop messing about with other things and sit my butt down at my desk!
We look forward to the time when the power of love will replace the love of power. Then will our world know the blessings of peace.
Whole handful out today

Dire circumstances prevented writing all weekend but now:
Zero in, 3 out. Beginning to catch up, sort of.
"Nolo esse salus sine vobis ...” —St. Augustine
Scrapped the bottom of the reply pile yesterday only to find two incoming in the afternoon.
Another supply of International stamps today. Unfortunately this "Things that Sting" series is domestic - must be afraid of scaring the tourists & no irukandji or bluebottles included either.
sinistral hypergraphica - a slurry of ink
"Nothing means less than zero"
