I actually had my first returned letter today
I got a random card in the mail requesting to be pen pals from an LWA member, so I sent a letter out, but just received it back Moved/Unknown I'm wondering if maybe I wrote the postal code wrong? I assume they found on me on here, so if you're out there and want to message me the correct way to write out the address, I'm all for sticking it into a second envelope and re-sending it.

I think my brain went into shut down mode after school. I have been super slow to respond, but getting back at it now!

Same here, I think I had a backlog of like 10 letters to respond to when finals week was finally over.

I've been behind with my correspondence - apologies!
I sent 3 today with a bunch more to get done in the next few days.

Incidentally, regarding the $0.22 surcharge, I've been on both ends. The last one I received was held but the postal clerk told me she'd "let it go this time."
I've been using the extra postage since.

The biggest hurdle I have in correspondence is a lack of recipients. I have only one family member left, a sister, and she only does text messaging, on my wife's side her family can barely read let alone write (I'm not kidding either) and the only person that willingly corresponds with me is my niece; and she does so to improve her literacy skills. It's actually pretty sad when you think about it…

You can write to me - and I promise to write back I love corresponding with my pen pals.

No I did not and the worst part is I am about 2 weeks behind. I looked at a letter I started and it was dated 13 days ago. I had some stuff happen at work and life and just kind of been spacing out when I get home. Also been trying to get my fitness schedule back to normal and lose some of the weight I have been packing on the past few years. So I will get back on a writing schedule and get back to everyone I just thought about today how I used to have a 1 to 2 day turn around for letters and all the sudden writing hasnt even been on my mind at all.

You should come over to my forum to ask some silly questions and write some silly answers to those silly questions to be sent in the post! Definitely some familiar names over there!

Still scratching out the replies despite upheavals and uncertainties in my corner of the world.

Two letters arrived this week and completely uplifted my spirits. An unexpected little moment of just glad!

I think there's something in the bits and bytes that are beaming invisible commands to "put away that pen, don't bother with ink....you just need to keep typing on your computer and not question things!" Not to mention the compulsory technology the owners of these bits and bytes force upon us as FUN--initially---and think we will all follow the TYRANNY of the invisible commander. We don't have to believe all those devices and their psychotic upgrades....I'm struggling but am determined to get them put back into their place.
Let not technology dominate---just use it as a stepping stone back to our desk, paper and pens....and above all our PENPALS!

Now, where is my book of FPGeek pals? I know it's here somewhere....(but will they remember me?) .~~~Thérèse

P.S. GOOD LUCK, mgmmaze with your new goals! Cheering for you!
