I sent out two today and I finally got some nice envelopes so I don't need to use these business sized ones any more. One of my friends said that his dad thought he owed someone money cause I kept using those types of envelopes. haha.

Our government must hasn't yet decided to address the issues of the USPS. A couple years back a study revealed that the Postal Service-as a business-is run inefficiently and utterly bankrupt. Fortunately, they are funded completely from tax dollars, so it isn't like they need to be responsible or work within a budget based on real-world mathematics or anything...
Actually, My Post Office has a sign that says they don't receive any Federal Funds...I guess just the money from the stamps, which is a tax, after all. When I ordered some stamps online recently for the first time, I was surprised to see what I thought was a charge for "shipping" (i.e. Postage!) which is a tax on a tax....but it said "Handling charge". LOL
That's one way around not taxing a tax. I hope we never lose the USPS. I think a lot losses are due to the proliferation of email. So I'm happy to see InCoWriMo and to know we can give them a boost.

    3 out today.

Got a batch of envelope(s) and tomoe river paper.
But to my frustration postal employees in India are on strike, starting from tomorrow. So the letters won't get mailed.
Does this breaks the InCoWriMo pledge.

As long as you write 28 types of correspondence that's all that matters, you can post them whenever, or hand them to people, or leave them on their desk etc as long as you write 28 that's all that matters. Well that's how I understand it anyway.

I was super GI virus sick yesterday, so no mailing or writing.

I am mostly human again today, and wrote and sent a short letter to my Uncle. And my mailbox had one (1) incoming pen-pal letter and three (3) incoming InCoWriMo letters, including one from Australia. My first international letter.

I will try to get at least one reply written and sent out tonight to make up for missing yesterday while being mostly dizzy and lightheaded and in the bathroom.

Glad the letter made it. Will have to send lots of letters in the hopes of a seal making the complete journey.

Lost power at about 2:30 pm on Saturday... still don't have it back and looking at the tangled mess of the lines (without a work vehical in sight) don't figure it will be back till at least tomorrow.
On the plus side. I got 16 letters in on Monday and another 7 today. Thank you all.

I will reply as fast as I can but living with a wood stove for heat, water, and food as well as candles for light, it might take me a while.

(currently at work, recharging all things electronic)

UGH! Sorry to hear it. It looks like your temps are about 60* higher than ours, but it still can't be comfortable for you; especially after several days.
Online arguments are a lot like the Rocky Horror Picture Show.
As soon as the audience begins to participate, any actual content is lost in the resulting chaos and cacophony.
At that point, all you can do is laugh and enjoy the descent into debasement.

You are correct. It isn't nearly as cold or a snowed on as other places. It's just converting life to the 18th century.
