Started as fun way to get snail mail and make some simple crafts. But like always seems to happen politics and inner bickering got involved and deadlines to make things didn't take priority with me anymore as my studies needed to come first so I had to leave the community. I met some amazing people there but the pressure got stressful.
2 in, 3 out.
Trying to get some out to the new pen pals who arrived post-InCo when I get a chance.

A few out, and none in today. Got a nice verbal Thank You from the Mail Lady Carrier type Person. Maybe we are keeping the USPS running with all our pen pals and USPS Shipped Orders

9 came in while I was out of town this week (nice to come home to that) , but I managed 4 long ones today for outgoing on Tuesday. I should manage several more before the end of the long weekend.

Wrote my first letter today since I was about 14. It felt good, even if it was a complete mess (apologies to the recipient!). Going in the post tomorrow.
Have decided to put my address out there for anyone who would like to send me something, though may get nervous and remove it later!
ADDRESS REMOVED

No Mail this Monday States-side. It is the day we are to celebrate all those who fought for our freedom and never made it home alive

from wikipedia:
Victoria Day (in French: Fête de la Reine) is a federal Canadian public holiday celebrated on the last Monday before May 25, in honour of Queen Victoria's birthday. The date is also, simultaneously, that on which the current reigning Canadian sovereign's official birthday is recognized. It is sometimes informally considered as marking the beginning of the summer season in Canada.
It was basically just her birthday. Mostly its an excuse for kids to go camping and get drunk.
Stupid question was Victoria when Canada formed its Queen in Parliament system?? Why her and not an earlier or later Crown

Yes. She is known (er, kind of?) in Canada as the "mother of the confederation". She was the royal in charge of the United Kington at the time that Canada formed in 1867. She became queen in the late 1830s, iirc. Canada was still under British rule but the conderation began in 1867 with the formation of 4 provinces. Other provinces joined Canada later.
And its not a stupid question. I barely remember any of that history class from growing up. Thats all we learned about REALLY was Canadian history, how the country formed, etc.
