My little basket has been empty but two came in today so I will work on those tomorrow. And I have new pens just for that purpose! :-)

Would those new pens happen to be Italian? Beautiful. So maybe we should set up a "Tuscan Pencation and Nib Cruise" for pen peeps the world over? A bunch of pen geeks descend on the Visconti factory and go nuts? For S/O's not into pens, we could throw in some Wine Tours and Art Walks. Not a bad way to spend a week or two?

2 in. 6 out.
1 out. It's been a long day but I got to one. Trying to do a bit more than just scratch out a reply these days but having a newborn makes it tough. Hopefully I'll get a few more this weekend.

Ugh, I'm trying to correspond, hard, but I'm paralyzed by how behind I am!
Last night I think I wrote maybe a paragraph in an hour.

Four out today, two more in. So I have three to write tomorrow and the basket will be empty again. . .

Absolutely! Keep it fun for yourself, and your recipients will enjoy your letters because you enjoy writing them. If it becomes a chore for you, that will show through your writing.
I have pen pals whom I exchange weekly letters with, and I have others with whom I only correspond a few times a year. Both sorts are valued friends.

One in today, two out, leaving three until my desk is empty.

One letter finished, but there's no mail pickup until Monday. It's been really raining hard here, so I think I'll keep it inside until Monday morning.
Thanks for the pep talk everybody.

One out (Two days in a row!) a short one to my mother.
Thank you very much to Writingrav for the sample of Tomoe River that I wrote it on!
(That leaves two more and then I'm caught up.)
Some packages going out to my niece and nephew whose dog died yesterday...just sending a little something to pick them up a bit. One letter out and half a dozen left to write. I had the best intentions this weekend, but with the week I had, and this stupid cold, letters weren't a priority.
Well as I write this I have one left letter to write in my stack. After months and months I'm finally caught up. I have spent the better part of yesterday and today writing letters and 8 (2 domestic, 6 international) will go out for certain with tomorrows mail. I'm about to grab a shower and start on that last letter.
Don't worry about taking a while to reply, we all have times when life gets in the way of our writing.

What a beautiful British stamp on your incoming letter! I watched "Queen and Country" last night on PBS and it featured the Royal ship, the Britannia, the Queen's "home at sea".
Alas, it has been "retired" to Scotland due to the expense of maintaining it in modern times.
I've always been fascinated by huge sailing vessels.
I feel like I'm taking over the thread but...
2 in! ~50 out!
(Well, we sent out about 50 thank you notes/letters today for baby gifts)
