I used a Waterman H-D Free Wheel Medium nib and O.S. Manganate V ink to write a reply to a first letter from a FPGeeks/InCoWriMo participant last night, and when I sent it today my box had a new letter from someone new to me, and also one from an existing pen-pal.

I sent out a passel last week, cards and letters, to prior correspondents. Tonight I've written my first reply to a letter from an FP Geek. How gratifying!

I've fallen behind trying to deal with a leaky roof but I caught up today by cheating and writing my wife a love letter.

Oh now that is the sweetest thing. Funny enough my hubby is the next person for me to write. I agree love letters are certainly best when written with a fountain pen.

I wrote a dear friend of mine. I am sure she is pretty excited to get a letter in the mail.

I've been consistently writing a letter and a postcard a day since feb 1st. so sent 16 pieces of mail so far. And with a week in I've already drained 4 of my 28 inked FP's. I say it's been a good week

I know of several card shops that might have cheap stationery or boxes that looked good but would be poor quality for writing with a fine instrument like a fountain pen.
I have a pad of N18 Rhodia paper that I print different images onto for each letter. The paper is 8.3 X 11.7 inches, but most printers have an option for you to specify the exact size.
It may not be your style, but I have a few of my standard images up on my blog for download if you'd like some to get you started.

    Two out today.

The postman just dropped 7 in the box. Fortunately, he also brought my ink samples. Time to get busy.

Our government must hasn't yet decided to address the issues of the USPS. A couple years back a study revealed that the Postal Service-as a business-is run inefficiently and utterly bankrupt. Fortunately, they are funded completely from tax dollars, so it isn't like they need to be responsible or work within a budget based on real-world mathematics or anything...

No. That is not right. Whomever told you that does not know what they are talking about, and the study was likely not real or not quoted correctly. They are not funded with any "tax dollars". If you don't believe me, perhaps you would believe a current US Senator.

Today I replied to a letter received yesterday from a FPGeek. Type40, if you are reading this, your wax seal didn't make it!

I received today a letter from someone I don't know who looks to have obtained my address from the InCoWriMo site (as opposed to here in the fpgeeks forums).

As much as I am loath to believe anything from a politician, it appears I have been misinformed and stand corrected.
