I am now down to 14 inked. I hope to run a few more out soon, with a target of 5 from now on. This is just too much to manage.

I just got down to three, if you don't count one Esterbrook Dip Less desk pen (which really isn't a fountain pen, but keeps ink in the well), and a few Pilot Varsities which I probably won't bother refilling any more once they're empty.
Parker Vacumatic with Namiki Blue.
Pilot Custom Heritage 92 with Pilot Blue-Black.
Lamy 2000 with De Atramentis Document Blue.
But I'm thinking of inking another pen today, as you can never have too much blue ink available.

Usually 5-8, as 8 is what fits in my pen holder. Keeps things manageable and allows a good variety of nibs, pen personas, and ink colors.

Usually my answer is 12-14 which is exhausting.
I've finally cut the number down to 6, yay!
Looking forward to emptying a few more.
Only one that I use. I'm dreading looking at the others because the ink in them has been untouched for almost a year

Considering that any of us can choose to answer the question, this seems not to be a very popular thread. I am answering it today only because I've got (what is for me) an unusually large number of pens inked: four. Parker 51, fine nib, Aurora black. Parker 51, fine/medium, Pelikan brilliant black. Lamy Profil 81, a really generous medium, Pelikan royal blue. Montblanc SlimLine, a painfully fine fine nib, Skrip jet black. Normally two pens inked are quite enough, one being a backup for when the other runs out of ink.
Without being specific, I can say that four is a small proportion of all the fountain pens I own. Some of them languish uninked for quite a long time.
I had sixteen pens inked until two and maybe a third succumbed to SITB (see ink subform), so I'm down to thirteen.

Six in my wrap and two on the desk.
Usually three or four, but today it's ten as I'm off to a pen meet!
I'm working diligently to get my inked pens down to a manageable level. I'm down to 4 - Italix Parsons, Wing Sung 699, Lamy 2000 and Lamy Studio All Black. I expect it will be the end of the week before I get down any further.
I'd love to get down to 2 - one for my journal writing and left at my desk and 1 to carry for planning and daily writing.
I use a fountain pen and a paper planner - paperinkplan.wordpress.com
My minimum is 11 pens inked at any time, 6 in my office, and 5 on the move with me.
Currently, the total of inked pens is 12, which means that I'm very reasonable
