Cool 2013 LE Safari - Neon Yellow

The GouletPenCo has the Neon Yellow Safari up with an expected date of April2013

From the photos it looks a distinctly different yellow from the regular one. Some of our road signs are a similar yellow but they glow in the dark.
I wonder if this does too ?
    I noticed they have
    Body Material: Neon yellow resin
Is this going to be any different from the regular ABS plastic Lamy make their usual Safaris from ?

Im getting a little tired of the light colors that have been coming out. I need a deep blue or an all black stealth or a red black combo pen.

The Charcoal Safari is fairly stealthy. And in some lights it could be confused with an Al-Star too.

I don't know what sort of philosophy Lamy has behind its Safari & Al-Star colour choices recently but I really would like to see a dark green or purple Safari in the near future.

I want them to bring back the orange. Or even a neon orange in keeping with their current trend. I want an orange one bad, but I can't bring myself to pay what they are going for on Ebay.

I'd also like to see some "colored" Vistas. Some with transparent blues, greens, oranges, or whatever.

A new Rhodia Orange would be handy for coordinating your stationary as the last one was a couple of shades too dark although it matches the orange band on Whitelines covers.
I can think of three versions of the Orange Safari: "Flame" orange with red clip
Orange with a cross on the cap
Orange with an orange cap dot (a re-release was available in Asia late 2011)

It is a wonder Lamy has not produced any coloured Vistas todate. A smokey grey similar to the Al-Star section would be a handsome and business like pen.

I wonder if tinted vistas might not look a bit cheap... I often find coloured transparent plastic looks rather brittle and flimsy. Also, it might make the regular Vista stand out less.
"What are moon-letters?" asked the hobbit full of excitement. He loved maps, as I have told you before; and he also loved runes and letters, and cunning handwriting, though when he wrote himself it was a bit thin and spidery.

Life is too short to waste money on butt-ugly pens. I swear, there must be a hallway full of designers, muttering "We must find a new butt-ugly color!"

I don't know how to translate "butt-ugly" into German.

I don't know. Think about all the colored TWSBIs out there. I have a Pilot Custom Heritage 92 in blue transparent that I absolutely love.

Plastic, as with many materials, comes in many grades. I am not an engineer, but I doubt Lamy would have a problem sourcing and using quality plastics.

Lamy uses ABS. It may be something about ABS that doesn't make some of our color requests a problem.

More likely the neon thing is just testing well with the home target audience and/or works with domestic joint marketing ventures. IIRC the latter is why they went Orange so much. Yes, I'm suggesting American tastes may very much be an afterthought.

The colours are very much dictated by the home market-certain colours do not 'work' in Germany.

The new colour is a highlighter pen type yellow, there will also be a new Al-Star colour coming...matt black, with a black clip.

Lamy can be a bit like Sony (heaven forbid) releasing different colours in different regions. I think last year or the before they had a slightly different set of Safaris available in a few European countries, Pink instead Aquamarine according to the online catalogue.

It is worth noting that Lamy list the Safari, Joy, Nexx and surprisingly the Al-Star under Young Writing not High-Quality or Modern Office so bright colours are not unexpected for them.

Didn't pink predate aqua by one year?
