I have enough postcards to get me through the self-isolation period, plus some. My last postcard purchase was made three weeks ago while hunting for pens in the antiques market in the wee hours.

I saw this. The bin was heavy, and stuffed with thousands of unused and used postcards from 1900 to present. About a penny for each useful card, plus used vintage collector cards I'll have to shift to someone who likes that sort of thing.

Alas, no pens that day. But at least I won't be tempted to violate the stay-at-home order when it comes. Oh, and I just received my supply of vintage US postage stamps, too.

I have these retro magnetic ones. I hope it won't be too long before I can start sending postcards again.

Nice find! The guys at the H.P. Lovecraft Historical Society would possibly be interested in the vintage collector cards. If you're interested in selling them off, PM or email me.
My word! That black, ebonite Waterman in your last photo is dead sexy!
Online arguments are a lot like the Rocky Horror Picture Show.
As soon as the audience begins to participate, any actual content is lost in the resulting chaos and cacophony.
At that point, all you can do is laugh and enjoy the descent into debasement.

I read that Covid-19 can't survive on cardboard for more than 24 hours.

I would have to go to the Post Office to buy stamps. The game is not worth the candle so long as the virus persists.

Oh yes that could be a problem. Unless you consider buying some on ebay for less?

The so-called experts are saying the virus can't live more than 24 hours on paper or cardboard, so I've been corresponding merrily despite essentially being under house arrest.

Goodness, the parkway was crowded back then, too! At least it appears to be moving.

Hello, if anyone would like to swap postcards - whether you are in the UK or overseas - then I'm more than happy to do so.

Drop me a line, and I'll send one your way.

    Sandy.

I wonder if anyone else gets random unannounced anonymous post cards with obtuse messages on them or am I singular in this set?

I don't know who gets to proclaim such things, but according to Postcrossing.com, October 1st is World Postcard Day. And to think I didn't reserve a table at my favorite restaurant to celebrate.

My February 1st postcard to Mariupol, Ukraine (and another to Belarus) finally expired on my Postcrossing Traveling Postcards list.

    Awful, so very sad:

She escaped Mariupol as late as April 7th, and had the mindset to update her Postcrossing profile with this message of tragedy and determination:

Sometimes antiques market finds are just too tempting. I mean, a box of many hundreds of identical vintage postcards for only $5? It's been two years now, and I am down to about 200-300 of them. There were even gifts of handfuls to fellow card swappers.

I did a search for Camp Nelson and I suspect if I sent one of these cards to Godfrey, Ontario it will be returned. Does Camp Nelson still exist? I am going to send a card there today, with my return address on the card, hoping CanadaPost will do the honors if they cannot deliver it.
