    Default London Shops

So, I find myself in London, and unexpectedly free on Sunday afternoon. As far as I can tell, neither branch of Penfriend will be open. Are there any other pen emporia a) worth visiting, and b) open on Sunday? Or should I just find a comfy coffee shop and read a book?

    Cheers,

    John

You could maybe have a wander around Harrods pen department. Maybe Selfridges has some? I'm not sure.

Selfridges is not bad at all - Gaber Castell, GvGC, Waterman are very well represented, and IIRC a few Italian brands. Probably very little you can't get elsewhere, but friendly and helpful and lots of ink, notebooks etc.

Plus, Selfridges salt beef sarnies. Legendary.

Thanks all. Further change of plans ruled out Selfridges, but that's a useful idea for the next time I have some spare time in London. Possibly in two weeks time!

Made it to Penfriend today. So many beautiful pens, so little cash... <deep sigh>

So I bought some ink. Can't have too much ink, right?

So I keep telling myself. Mind you, I used to say that about chisels, and that got a bit out of hand...

Looking at your profile we agree on North by North West being a great film.

And my, what a lot of chisels!

ETA: an excellent kerb stone too.

So I could triple my ink collection and still claim it hasn't got out of hand? Yay!

I suggest finding pictures of someone who has a larger collection than you do, and you can claim just about anything...
